Today the Allenton Volunteer Fire Department had their annual BBQ plate sale. My wife and I were off from work, so we decided to get takeout plates. A local country station WKML 95.7 FM was doing a live remote at the event.
I spent a night with my friend Sparky who invited me to attend his visit to a local hobby club. It was a fun couple of hours of photo enjoyment for me.
I like that I can use the XApp as a remote for this camera. No need to buy and lose a remote repeatedly.
I am very much done with the snow for this winter.
Wishing all who took the time to read this an incredible 2026.
The other junction on this somewhat isolated and remote road is one about five miles further West from the other. I parked up here for a while and you can hear nothing, aside from a passing car now and then.It really is a peaceful place July 23 2014.
This has become my go to combo for remote working. What's your pick?

A Potain HDT 80 is being used at this construction site on Cambridge St. Not only does the crane have a small footprint, its electric motors are extremely quiet and it can be controlled by its operator outside the cab. This can be very important in a job with a small footprint where placement is critical.
On our way to Omega Park we drove along the river to get to the ferry. I really liked the view so I asked my boy to take some pictures. He knows a about auto focus and a bit about zooming, however, it was on manual.
It went something like this...
"Push the little button with the green dot on the top." *click*
"No buddy, that takes a picture." "Oh ya..." he says. "Dis juan?" *tch-click*
"Yuuup! - a la Dave from Storage Wars
"Now focus on the trees..." *Zzzt click-click-click
"Buddy...out the other window...across the river..." "But deeze are butter." *pause* "...oh-kay"
Zzzzzt Click-click-click-click "Thank you buddy."
Zzzt-zzzt-zzt. Click-click-click ??
"Daaaad! He is bothering me." -she says in a whiny voice...

Evidence of ancient forest, middle o' nowhere.
I find these all of huge old tree roots in high, remote places quite fascinating. Scotland was a richer place when these lived.
This is an example of a quality remote starter module. Notice the large, high current relays. They can handle 33% more current that the relays found in cheaper modules. A thicker circuit board ensures long life in a vehicle.
Left over pictures.... highly cropped so poor quality (sorry about this)... just giving you an idea of the number of remotely parked aircraft at Frankfurt.
The bleak and remote aspect of the higher levels at the Dinorwig slate quarry is very evident when viewed with the Snowdonian mountains behind.

I hate it when I'm watching TV and someone changes the channel so they can watch whatever they want.
I have a Mac mini connected to my TV set. With Mocha VNC Lite, a free app, on my iPod touch and the mini on my home LAN, I can control the mini from the couch. Er, touch. I'm still fumbling around getting used to the delays in what shows on the TV and what shows on the touch.
