This image reminds me a wintery scene that a well known artist named, Robert Bateman might have chosen for one of his subjects..

Bateman painted wildlife and wilderness. Many of his painting were of animals against snowy backgrounds.

This particular Eagle sat perched up high, in what looked like a winter wonderland of heavily frosted trees.

This was a very long zoom and my 300mm lens was maxed out trying to 'pluck' him from this distance.

The atmosphere also posed as somewhat of a challenge to shoot through, as it was thickened by fog.

Reminds me of, ' Apples and Oranges ' ! These are 2022 yield from our terrace garden.

As the seasons change, some low-lying clouds remind me that stormy days are ahead. But for now, I enjoy the September colors at the end of the day.

this image reminds me of photos I have seen of divers floating in the sea and looking up to the sun above the water ... the water sparkling and glittering. I am no diver so this is just me phantasizing a bit; but it's the reason I chose this macro for today's theme "blue" to celebrate Earth

This is a close-up of my favourite cyan multi-faceted lantern / glass vase; sidelit with a reading lamp (you are looking into the vase with the rim on the left hand side; the rim is just under 7 mm wide).

Reminded me of a small settlement clinging to the side of a forested hill or mountain.

Reminds me of my childhood summers when I spent the holidays with my grandparents. On the outskirts of the village there were cornfields, surrounded by cherry trees and underneath grew flowers like the ones in the picture above: poppies, cornflowers, but also camomile, from which I braided flower wreaths that I put over my long hair.

I am reminded by my cousin, Lindsey Ulanowsky, about Albert Einstein having once famously said that “if the bee disappeared off the face of the Earth, man would only have four years left to live”. They are so important for our biodiversity and food production (yes including chocolate)!

Today is world bee 🐝 day the theme is “ Bee engaged”. We can all make a difference to help!

🐝Planting bee-friendly plants like heather and daisies and red clover on balconies, terraces, and in gardens can help

🐝Leaving sections of the garden wild and letting the grass grow long gives the bees a place to shelter

🐝make a bee hotel for your garden's bee population

🐝Leaving a small dish with a few pebbles and shallow water in can help if a bee is thirsty

🐝There are also special bricks which bees can live in

🐝Don't use pesticides as they are really harmful to bees

🐝Buy honey and other hive products from your nearest local beekeeper

Observing Acorn Woodpeckers always reminds me of the adage "with friends like these, who needs enemies." As they live in a unique extended communal groups, it's a safe bet that these two are of the same group if not related genetically. Despite this connection, they are very aggressive towards one another. The exception is when a different species of bird gets to close, then they work together like a well oiled military unit to beat the snot out of the interloper. Despite their aggression (perhaps because of it) they are my favorite birds.
