It's hard to believe that our dear and very special friend Jim DuBois (Garnite) died five years ago today. He was a gem of a man, a fine photographer, a lover of eagles (especially Beethoven) and a compassionate friend with a gentle sense of humor. I know I join all his friends from around the world in remembering him with love not just today but every day.

A simple sentiment enscribed on this bench alongside the footpath through a field on the edge of this parish. I'd like to think there might be a lost soul sat there in this simple scene...

On a cold winter morning, it is refreshing to remember a Hawaiian sunset a month and a half ago.

people are too uncomfortable with themselves. even though you might not have many friends, God is always your friend :)
The city of Red Oak has a very rich Military History, and our community, as well as other nearby communities have been touched by the loss of community members serving our military in recent years. We were fortunate to have this display honoring those young warriors, at our 2019 community celebration.
I have fond memories of our photo workshop in Joshua Tree last March as well as our most recent workshop in the Tetons and Yellowstone. It was so enjoyable to associate with so many nice and interesting people, just too many images to go through and process!
I'm looking forward to our next workshop in the high Sierras shooting fall color in October. If you are interested you can check our website at mountainhighworkshops.com.

Honoring those who tragically died 19 years ago.I never thought at the time the significance this picture would mean so much for me this day.
The Image has never been doctored. Back then I just took the shots and filed them away; periodically taking them out of the cobwebs. Taken with the Minolta SRT 101, Kodak Tri X 400, 1976.
Traveling with my young family on the water from Point Pleasant, N.J. to Block Island, Nantucket and Martha's Vineyard. So long ago, but yet it seems like yesterday. A bit unusual for me now, as I find my memory's infirmity.
Remembering someone close to me who lost their life at The Viaduct. This is a gorgeous place to walk, unfortunately it holds sad memories for many family's and their friends.

Freighter off the coast of Gisborne on a cold evening.
Had to tilt the image by 1 degree in order to level the horizon, the rest is au naturel.
Mourning the lost lives of doomed MH017, to the lone Canadian from Ajax who perished in this tragedy. Love peace, enjoy life...

// Vow Beneath the Moon \\
In the night lit by moonlight,
Your silhouette becomes a haze.
Deeper than words can convey,
Feelings transcend time and space.
Promises made under cherry blossoms,
Silently engraved in the heart.
Even when far apart,
Souls connected, love remains unchanged.
Every time I think of you,
Petals dance in the air.
Swearing an eternal love,
The moon watches over us, ever fair.
