When noticing that your carpets are in need of cleaning, it's important that you do not approach everything lightly. You need to choose the right company in order to fit your needs. Keep reading to learn more about how to judge what makes a good carpet cleaning service for you to hire.
If you are feeling overwhelmed by the number of different carpet cleaning companies in your area, look to the Internet for some guidance. Look up the names of a few companies that you are interested in, and see what kind of information you can find. Former customer reviews can be extremely helpful.
Urine stains can be hard to clean. The best way to get rid of these stains is to apply a damp and lukewarm towel on the stain to absorb the urine. Apply a urine cleaning detergent to the area before rinsing with more lukewarm water. Read the instructions on the detergent before using it.
Ask for a full-service quote when you are calling around for carpet cleaning. Many companies will try to give you a quote based on minimal service so that they can get their foot in the door. Unfortunately, you will have already taken a day off of work before you find out what the costs really are if you do not follow this tip.
If you are cleaning a stain, try to focus on working towards the middle. This motion will isolate the stain so that it will not spread on your floor. Try to use a cleaning product that gets rid of the stain without harming your rug in the process for the best results.
On stains that are very hard to get rid of, use shaving cream. Find a shaving brush and put a small amount of shaving cream on this and rub on the stain. Repeat this process as it will slowly pull the stain from the carpet so that it looks new again.
If a carpet cleaning company quotes you a price simply based on the number of rooms in your house, be aware that they might not be completely on the up and up. Houses vary greatly in size. Your living room could be substantially smaller (or bigger) than someone else's room. Therefore, most reputable companies will give you a price based on your square footage.
Ask your carpet cleaning company how long they have been in business. This is an industry where people come and go a lot, and you do not want to hire the new guy on the block. Finding someone with years of experience can benefit you. It shows they are serious about their business and have a reputation that has allowed them to sustain.
Take advantage of current promotions and specials being run at the carpet cleaning companies in your area. Sometimes you can find a new company looking to build their clientele base, giving away great deals to first time customers. Doing your research into this can end up saving you money and finding you a great new company.
Be very careful if you use a coupon from a carpet cleaning company that you receive in the mail. They will often list extremely low prices to get the work, but when they actually come, they will hit you with hidden charges to clean the home. Extras they will try to tack on at additional cost include spot treatment, heavy traffic areas and hallways.
Now that you have learned what you need to in order to make an informed decision, you can now better choose the right carpet cleaning service for your needs. Keep what you've read in mind, and take pride in the carpets that are in your home. You want them fresh and clean for your family. housepackerssydney.com.au/home-packers-sydney-most-reliab...
CEA Projects Myanmar recently undertook a project for the moving of a 25-year-old bottle washer from Wardan in downtown Yangon to the clients’ new soft drink manufacturing plant 20kms away in the Northern Yangon district of Shwe Pyi Thar.
The washer weighed over 45 Tonnes and had been affixed in the same position since its installation over 25 years ago. The washers dimensions of 14m x 3.4m x 4m (LxWxH) resulted in a careful and meticulous removal as the washer was moved from its original operating area, skated through 90 degrees then jacked 1.2 meters off the ground and readied for transportation.
Due to the complexity of the Transportation, special permits were required from six Yangon Townships prior to moving the washer. Due to certain height restrictions on the roads in Yangon transportation began in the early hours to take advantage of the low volume of traffic. CEA teams ensured that power lines, traffic lights and other potential roadside hazards were avoided and kept intact throughout the journey.
Upon arrival at the new plant, the washer was turned to the correct angle and carefully skated into position. The final procedure consisted of levelling the washer to the correct height making it ready for installation and operation. Once again CEA Myanmar in conjunction with CEA Thailand have shown their expertise in a potentially difficult and challenging project that’s was completed on time safely and within budget.

You can see the "stock" mirror location holes on the door panel. These are going to be filled before we get the truck painted. Don't know why they built it that way but it sure don't make any sense.
You can also see the mod to the upper door hings (lower is similar) and the new mirror bracket to relocate the stock mirror. Yeah- I know it needs to be painted- just like everything else.
Now when the doors come off the truck is still legal.
Hastings Street Paradise Valley Blackbottom... "The Tree That Grew "ROOTS" And Branches"...

Black Bottom was a predominantly black neighborhood in Detroit, Michigan, that was demolished for redevelopment in the early 1960s. It was replaced with Lafayette Park. It was located on Detroit's near East side bounded by Gratiot Avenue, Brush Street, Vernor Highway, and the Grand Trunk railroad tracks.
The area's main commercial avenues were Hastings and St. Antoine streets. An adjacent north-bordering neighborhood was known as Paradise Valley. The two were not considered to be the same neighborhood. Historically, this area was the source of the River Savoyard, which was buried as a sewer in 1836. Its "bottomland" and rich marsh soils are the source of the name "Black Bottom".[1]
Hastings Street, which ran north-south through Black Bottom, had been an area populated by immigrants before World War I. With ethnic succession, by the 1950s it became an African-American community of black-owned business, social institutions, and night clubs. It became nationally famous for its music scene: major blues singers, big bands, and jazz artists—such as Duke Ellington, Billy Eckstine, Pearl Bailey, Ella Fitzgerald, and Count Basie—regularly performed in the bars and clubs of Paradise Valley entertainment district. Aretha Franklin's father, the Reverend C. L. Franklin, first opened his New Bethel Baptist Church on Hastings Street.
Black Bottom endured the Great Depression, with many of its residents working in factories. Following World War II, the physical structures of Black Bottom were in need of replacement. In the early 1960s, the City of Detroit demolished the Black Bottom district as part of an urban renewal project. The area was replaced by the Chrysler Freeway (Interstate 75) and Lafayette Park, a residential development designed by Mies van der Rohe and intended as a model neighborhood. It combined residential townhouses, apartments and high-rises with commercial areas. Many of the residents relocated to large public housing projects such as the Brewster-Douglass Housing Projects Homes and Jeffries Homes.
Other historical Detroit black neighborhoods include Conant Gardens, Russell Woods, and Elmwood Park.
January 2022 - Shing Mun Reservoir
Shing Mun Reservoir is a reservoir in Hong Kong. It is located in Shing Mun, the area between Tsuen Wan and Sha Tin, in the New Territories.
Several hundreds years ago, the area around the reservoir was a dense forest with very few inhabitants. At least from 1646 to 1659, Southern Ming loyalist Li Wanrong (李萬榮), leading a cohort numbering in thousands, controlled Kowloon and much of today's New Territories, collecting taxes and fortifying villages, including erecting a fortress in the lower part of the Shing Mun River valley. Hence the area became known as Shing Mun or "fortified gate".
After 1669, when the Great Clearance imposed by the Kangxi Emperor of the Qing dynasty was rescinded, many Hakkas settled in this area, growing rice, tea and pineapples. In the early 20th century, there were seven villages in the area.
The Shing Mun Reservoir was built as part of the Shing Mun Water Supply Scheme formulated in 1923 to meet the increasing demand for fresh water due to the urbanisation of Kowloon. To a design by London dam engineers Messrs Binnie, Deacon & Gourley, construction began in 1933 of a dam 122 metres wide and 35 metres high which, upon completion, had a capacity of 4 billion litres. By the conclusion of Phase Three of the scheme in 1937, the dam had been extended to 85 metres in height and 13.6 billion litres capacity. The name Jubilee Reservoir (銀禧水塘) was designated to celebrate the Silver Jubilee (1935) of King George V of the United Kingdom, though the name has fallen into disuse.
The local inhabitants were resettled in other parts of the New Territories, and now some of the old villages are submerged. The remains of other villages and houses can be seen in the woods on the side of the reservoir. The remains of Gin Drinkers Line on the nearby hills show the defences of British forces against the Japanese invasion during World War II.
It is possible to see many troops of macaque monkeys around the picnic sites and in the woodland areas. To preserve the natural environment of the reservoir, its surrounding area is managed under Shing Mun Country Park. Two walking trails, Wilson Trail and MacLehose Trail, cross at the side of the reservoir.
Shing Mun Country Park commands a site of 1,400 hectares. From its northern edge in Lead Mine Pass, it extends to Shing Mun Road in the south. The western border lies in Tai Mo Shan, while Grassy Hill and Needle Hill mark the eastern margin. This idyllic sanctuary is nestled deep in the southeastern hills of Tai Mo Shan. Shielded by peaks and ridges on all sides, it is bestowed with lyrical scenery. For decades, it has been one of the best loved leisure destinations in Hong Kong. Funded by the Sir David Trench Fund for Recreation, the Government introduced a pilot programme for countryside recreation facilities in 1971. Designated in 1977, Shing Mun Country Park was one of the first country parks in the territory. Other country parks dated back to the same era are Kam Shan Country Park and Lion Rock Country Park.
In 1923, responding to urban Kowloon's pressing need for water supply, work began for the Shing Mun Reservoir. To make way for this monumental project, original villagers of the Shing Mun Valley were relocated to the New Territories. This impressive facility was eventually completed in 1937.

University City Townhomes Residents React to Legal Settlement Between City, Altman Management
Residents continue to demand a “Right to Return,” participation in any future development and deeply affordable housing
Philadelphia: After a two-year struggle, in which residents of “The People’s” Townhomes fought back against plans to displace one of the few remaining, predominantly Black, affordable housing developments in that area of West Philadelphia, the City and property owners, Altman Management/IBID settled an ongoing lawsuit over the property. The agreement, that stems from the lawsuit filed by Altman Co/IBID against the City, includes:
Partial preservation of the site for “Affordable Housing” and demolition of the existing site
Some level of compensation for residents who were—and are—being forced to relocate
Today’s settlement was shaped in part by over two years of Townhomes Residents fighting back to demand the City and local universities hold large developers accountable to increasing displacement throughout the city.
There was a resident-led Press Event on Friday, April 21, 4pm at 40th and Market St. in West Philadelphia to announce next steps. It included a march into surrounding streets with banners, signs and chants before ending backat 40th and Market.
Residents see today’s settlement agreement as falling far short of the solutions to address the individual needs of families and seniors being pushed out of the Townhomes and that of the City’s growing affordable housing crisis. The deal sets aside just over 19% of the current site for affordable housing and does not specifically address residents “right to return” or direct involvement in the future development of the property. Additionally, the settlement’s current “affordability” terms, which target tenants with incomes at 60% to 80% of the Area Median Income (AMI), do not meet the affordability needs of seniors and families currently living at and around the site. Residents have continued to demand that the site prioritizes housing for families on fixed incomes at 30% AMI or lower.
“We must have a written commitment from the City that guarantees a ‘Right to Return’ with a housing subsidy for current and former residents and a commitment to work with the residents on the redevelopment of the preserved site” said Rasheda Alexander, a resident and member of the UC Townhomes Resident Council.
While this settlement–which residents were not a party to–is an important step in recognizing the importance of preserving affordable housing, there is a significant amount of work left to do to ensure meaningful preservation and reduce the harms of displacement. Residents have worked hard over the last two years to plan for a comprehensive vision of what resident-centered preservation is and are still prepared to work collaboratively with the City to bring this vision into existence.
Residents expect the City to fulfill its assurances–made to residents- to protect seniors and families by partnering to make sure any future development includes:
A written framework and process for a “Right to Return” for residents to any future development at the site, especially for residents with disabilities and homebound seniors
A subsidy attached to the future development that ensures tenants pay no more than 30% of their income in rent and utilities
Inclusion of residents in the redevelopment process for the future site
Accessibility for seniors, residents with disabilities and homehound residents
A future design that includes support for inter-generational living in unit sizes and building layout
Inclusion of community spaces for residents and young people
While residents see today’s settlement agreement as falling short of addressing their individual needs and the growing lack of deeply affordable housing, we realize this agreement would not have happened if it weren’t for residents and advocates standing up and pushing back to hold developers accountable. Residents will also continue to call upon the University of Pennsylvania and Drexel University to address the displacement of historically Black communities by contributing funds toward this future development and other sites in the area.
“We said last year that we’re not going anywhere and we’ll continue to fight to make sure any future site includes deeply affordable housing for very low income seniors and families” -Darlene Foreman, UC Townhomes resident and Resident Council member.

"The largest, grandest and most expensive chapel built in Wales" - Anthony Jones' description of Tabernacle, Morriston, in his 1996 definitive book Welsh Chapels which features the iconic Grade 1-listed building as its cover-photograph.
Victorian industrialisation brought rapid population growth to the lower Swansea Valley, close to the port of Swansea, as rural workers sought new employment opportunities in many tinplate and copper works established in the area. Welsh Nonconformity enjoyed great popularity; a dozen chapels were built in the Morriston area alone in the latter half of the nineteenth century and Tabernacle, planned as the ultimate evocation of a Welsh chapel in terms of architecture, space and facilities, was completed in 1872 at a staggering cost of £18,000. A rare photograph shows the building shrouded by timber scaffolding as construction reached the base of its 160ft spire.
The design was evolved by three prominent figures in the area: the minister, Emlyn Jones, the architect, John Humphrey and the contractor Daniel Edwards. They undertook a tour of Britain to see the newest and best chapels and returned to assemble a grand collage of the elements they liked best. Although the facade, with its eight huge Corinthian columns and arches, predominates, the other three sides are also designed in detail. The interior, an impressive display of the carpenter's craft in the so-called Age of Mahogany, is of equal quality with its downward-swooping choir gallery and distinctive three-case organ.
The Cambrian national newspaper described it as "the one great redeeming feature in that manufacturing district, an oasis in a desert". The heavy industry is no more, but the visual impact of the building, its spire visible for miles around, remains undiminished.
The church members, some 800 in 1872, relocated to the new building from a nearby chapel for lack of space; following the fervour of the 1904 Revival, membership at Tabernacle peaked at 1059 in 1910. The architect's drawings indicate that it was intended to retain the name of the former chapel at the planning stage, however the foundation stone bears the name Tabernacle. Emlyn Jones' pioneering work was followed by long ministries by two figures of national stature: J.J.Williams (1915-1944) poet and Archdruid of Wales 1936-38, and Trebor Lloyd Evans, writer and historian (1945 - 1964) who worked tirelessly to revive the Welsh language, then in rapid decline, and campaigned to establish the first Welsh-language school in the area.
Tabernacle, often featured on television programmes such as Songs of Praise, remains a religious and cultural centre as it approaches its 140th anniversary, hosting some dozen choral concerts a year by local and visiting choirs. It has been visited by Royalty, generations of celebrated preachers, singers and leading concert organists. The Tabernacle Choir was formed in 1876; one of the longest-established Welsh mixed choirs, it maintains a tradition of concerts with orchestral accompaniment. Penfro Rowlands, its conductor 1892-1919, composed the hymn tune Blaenwern sung worldwide. His successor, Edgar Hughson, conducted an astonishing range of 24 choral works in 49 annual concerts during his long tenure and also led the appeal for a new 3-manual organ of 40 stops by Hill, Norman & Beard installed in 1922. Part-funded by a major grant from the Heritage Lottery Fund, it was comprehensively restored by Harrison & Harrison of Durham in 1998.
These pictures are just a small example of the devastation in and around Tuscaloosa, Alabama right now. Total destruction. Miles long. Miles wide. You see a pile and wonder if it is a house. You stare for a few minutes and still do not know.
It is most interesting to look in these piles and see people's lives, once private, now exposed in the sunshine, laying on the ground.
