Chushar, the capital of modern Lhartse county (4050m). This town is an important intersection where two main roads converge. Three river valleys extend upstream to the south of Chushar; the Trum chu, which leads via the Zhichen Chutsen hot springs to Sakya; the Mangkar chu which leads to the Mangkar hermitages; and the Chushar chu, which leads towards the watershed Gyatso la pass (5220 m).

In Laos they just fill every natural hole in the rock with statues, relics and religious representations.

This cave is situated about 20 metres over the Mekong river, at the confluence with the Nam Ou River (25 kms from Luang Prabang) and it is packed with over 4,000 amazing Buddha icons (only few are visible in this photo).

Here the contrast between the darkness of the cave and the brightness of the landscape was huge, so I really had to push the HDR technique to the extreme, bracketing over a range of 4 stops and stretching the histogram a little more than the usual... I'm happy I could make it :-)

Religious beliefs, religious icons and commerce. They are all worshiped.

Everywhere in Schwarzwald, you see small statues of Maria or Jezus on the side of the road. In villages or the open countryside, even deep in the Black forrest itself, it doesnt matter. Walk a mile and you'll find atleast one of these kinds of statues hidden or in plain sight.

Buddhism in Thailand is largely of the Theravada school. Nearly 95% of Thailand's population is Buddhist of the Theravada school, though Buddhism in this country has become integrated with folk beliefs such as ancestor worship. Thai Buddhism was based on the religious movement founded in the sixth century B.C. by Siddhartha, later known as the Buddha, who urged the world to relinquish the extremes of sensuality and self-mortification and follow the enlightened Middle Way...... The focus of this religion is on man, not gods; the assumption is that life is pain or suffering, which is a consequence of craving, and that suffering can end only if desire ceases. The end of suffering is the achievement of nirvana often defined as the absence of craving and therefore of suffering, sometimes as enlightenment. Like in most other Theravada nations, Buddhism in Thailand is represented primarily by the presence of Buddhist monks, who serve as officiants on ceremonial occasions, as well as being responsible for preserving and conveying the teachings of the Buddha.

Suphan Buri is an ancient town in Thailand rich in culture and historical temples. The word Suphan originates from the Sanskrit word Suvarna, meaning gold, and the word buri from Sanskrit Purī, meaning town or city. Hence the name of the province literally means City of Gold. Suphan Buri might be the site which is mentioned in very old Buddhist writings. Wat Chi Suk Kasem above is a monastery, located in Changwat Suphan Buri, Thailand, a building and grounds where a community of monks lives in seclusion. .

Men hangt het zogenaamde Teravada-boeddhisme.

St. Nicholas Church, an Orthodox church in Tbilisi, is located within the walls of the historic Narikala Fortress, which towers high above the city. The current church, built in the 1990s, replaced an earlier structure that dated back to the 13th century. The architecture of the church reflects traditional Georgian design, with its characteristic domes and stone facades. Inside the church, the walls are adorned with vibrant frescoes depicting important Biblical scenes and saints, including St. Nicholas, to whom the church is dedicated. These paintings, combined with the serene atmosphere, make the church an important place for both worshippers and visitors interested in the religious and cultural history of Georgia. Perched high above the city, the church is not always easy to reach for everyone. The church’s location on the fortress also offers visitors a stunning view of Tbilisi, making it a popular destination for both tourists and believers seeking both spiritual and visual experiences.

In the photo, an elderly woman dressed in simple black clothing, a symbol of her deep devotion and humility, is seen slowly making her way towards St. Nicholas Church with the help of her crutches, determined to attend the service. Her face, marked by the years, radiates a quiet strength and dedication. Despite her physical limitations, her faith is an undeniable force that drives her to this sacred place, where she finds solace and connection in her spiritual practices. The church, surrounded by history and prayers, seems to draw her in as a beacon of hope and peace.

And he said, "The Son of Man must suffer many things and be rejected by the elders, chief priests and teachers of the law, and he must be killed and on the third day be raised to life."

(Unaware, I have been unfair

I've been unfit for blessings from above

But even I can see

The sacrifice you made for me

To show that I have never been unloved.)

This is the final product i decided to get it done. Though it's in latin and no one except for those who ask will know it's meaning. I know what it is (as seen on the last pic and more highly explained) and in the end that's all that matters. It's what i believe and nothing changes that.

Nowhere like Naples to buy religious kitsch.

Dong Jingxin is a preacher in a house church in China. She's believed in the Lord for thirty years, and loves the truth; she frequently reads the Lord's words and is driven by them. She expends herself for the Lord with enthusiasm. Because of her preaching work, she was arrested by the police of the Chinese Communist government and sent to prison where she endured cruelty and torture. It was the words of the Lord that guided her through enduring seven years of inhuman prison life. After getting out, her co-worker Chenguang comes to see her and reads to her from the words of Almighty God, bearing witness that God has appeared and is working in the last days. She also gives her a copy of The Word Appears in the Flesh. After reading quite a bit of the words of Almighty God, Dong Jingxin feels that they are authoritative and that they have come from God. She develops a heart of longing to seek. Dong Jingxin and her husband hungrily devour the words of Almighty God and discover that they are all the truth, and that they are the voice of God. They determine that Almighty God really is the return of the Lord Jesus they have been awaiting for years! Just as the two of them are awash in the joy of welcoming the return of the Lord, the chief of police pays them a visit to warn them against attending any gatherings or doing any preaching. He warns them that they particularly must report anyone who preaches Eastern Lightning, giving rise to anxiety in Dong Jingxin. After that, once their pastor finds out that Dong Jingxin is leading brothers and sisters to look into the work of God in the last days, he also interferes with and blocks them. Faced with confusion and disruption from the forces of Satan, Dong Jingxin is able to clearly see the true face of the pastors and elders of the religious world through prayer, seeking, and fellowship. She does not back down, but continues to lead brothers and sisters to investigate the true way, and she invites people from The Church of Almighty God to give fellowship and bear witness to the work of Almighty God in the last days. In the end, everyone acknowledges that the words uttered by Almighty God really are the voice of God, and that He is the appearance of God. Everyone is deeply moved: What a beautiful voice the words of Almighty God are!

Ang Birhen ng Orani which is said to be found beneath the kamatsile tree during the early days of Spanish settlement in Bataan in 1588. Twice or thrice it was lost in the altar of the nearby Samal Church and always found in Orani on the same spot where it was found under the kamatsile tree.

Later, Church authorities decided to have it shrine in the Orani altar which is now a National Pilgrimage Shrine of our Lady of Orani.
