Simple, reliable and affordable - it was according to this formula that the S Type, in numerous versions, became the most circulated series model ever to be manufactured by Laurin & Klement. The name Landaulet refers to its body design, inspired by carriage-building.

My most recent watercolor painting. Took almost 6 hours to paint which is unusual for me as I often finish a painting in 3 hours. Still I REALLY love how this turned out. So many things went right on it.

A Reliable Wife by Robert Goolrick
It's Wisconsin (or is it Minnesota?). It's the middle of winter and Catherine Land is on a train, on her way to marry a man she has never met, who has advertised for a "reliable wife." Catherine has done a lot of living in her time, but she is still a beautiful woman. Between herself and her young lover, they have concocted a plan that she will marry Ralph Truitt and then slowly poison him. Then she and her lover will have each other and lots of money. All begins to go wrong on the way from the train station to Truitt's home when an accident occurs. Over time Catherine begins to know Ralph as a person, not merely the means to an end and to truly like the man she sees. But she still is committed to her now far away lover and the original plan. Until Ralph throws a wrench into the plan by asking Catherine to bring home his long lost, wayward son.
The premise of the book is a pretty old story, but the way it all plays out is unique. Despite Catherine's evil plan and actions, you can't help feeling for her. And despite all Ralph's goodness, he's not all that good. The story unfolds in interesting ways, though I wish there had been a bit more at the end. Some of it seems a bit predictable and some of it needs a bit more fleshing out for me.
50 bucks, how could i pass over this..
I don't collect this type of thing but street railway has been a past interest with me and i still appreciate it especially when an item which really isn't in bad condition. is mostly all together and certainly double marked.
I think a far stretch to assume its lineage is that of Holliston street railway. or Hudson street railway.
a contact suggested Holyoke... or Hartford Street Railway Company.
the metal is very good condition compared to same types ive seen
this one a bit better. at least no rot or even a pin hole.

Crew of 3 designed for 60 passengers
Taken over by Serco Denholm in 2008 and renamed SD NUTBOURNE
SD Bountiful and SD Reliable
SD Reliable was the first of four purpose built tractor tugs designed by Damen specifically to assist the largest and most modern warships likely to be used by the Royal Navy in the foreseeable future.
SD Reliable was built to a new design to provide assistance to warships and other vessels where exceptional manoeuvrability, precise control and adequate power are essential. Included in the design are a number of special features required specifically for use in the UK naval bases. Construction of the hull and all major steel work for this vessel, and its three sisterships, was undertaken by a Damen subsidiary in Poland. Once launched and prepared for sea the hulls were towed to the Maaskant Shipyard at Stellendam in the Netherlands to be fitted out to a very high standard, commissioned, and trialled prior to delivery.
SD Reliable measures 29.13m in length overall, with a maximum beam of 9.98m, depth (at sides) of 4.00m and the relatively shallow draft (aft) of 4.41m.
Reliable was delivered in Nov 2009, and Bountiful in April 2010
YK04BPF FODEN ALPHA 450 This was our first eight wheeler with the DAF cab, a backward step, but the 4000 cab was no longer available and we had no choice. A well specced motor, Cat 450 C10 and 16 speed box with the usual Kenworth rails and crossmembers, fitted with plenty of extras that make spending your working life in a wagon more of a pleasure.
The loader was a major departure for us being a French Dalby unit. Powertec just down the road from us are agents and as I was going to be in France on holiday 20 miles from the factory they arranged a factory visit.
A young lady picked us up and we had an interesting and pleasant day out. I was very impressed with the answers to my questions and problems.
All of the problems with the Multilift had been met and dealt with in the past. Having decided to order one, the French visited our site and went to Pelican Engineering (Foden agents) to measure a Foden, having got drawings from Foden already, they had never seen a Foden in France.
From our point of view the Dalby was all we could have asked for, I think it was the first unit for a 32 tonner in the UK and probably for a long while. A well thought out and reliable piece of kit, our new MAN has a Dalby unit, built to, what the French call "The Schofield Spec".
The Cat C10 450 was another thing, turbos crack and fail regularly and we never made a successful warranty claim, Cat were already pulling out of the UK and there was no talking to them. At about 250,000 km the engine did what a lot of Cats do - exploded - spectacularly, oil and cast iron everywhere, we even had to pay for the fire brigade to attend. I bought a tested tractor unit with a 340 rated Cat and did a transplant, our ECU was undamaged and when fitted the new engine becomes a 450. It would have cost £18,000 for a recon Cat, spare parts prices for them are frightening. We ran it for a while but I had already ordered our first MAN 440.
Jeepney, is consider as the king of the road here in the Philippines, a reliable war machine converted as public vehicle during the early days of reconstruction after WWII. Just like any other public transport, Jeepneys were also classified into different classes. One of them is PATOK. Patok Jeepneys ply on areas like Marikina, Mandaluyong, some parts of Manila (particularly in Sta. Mesa area) and Quezon City in Metro Manila and City of Antipolo, towns of San Mateo and Montalban in Rizal. These kinds of jeepneys are known for their flamboyant air brush designs and chrome ornaments. Most Patok jeepneys use to have loud sound systems playing American Pop, RnB and Old music remix and Local rap songs; while others have LED television sets. Patoks are longer and can handle 30 passengers (including those hanging chance passengers) at most, compared to ordinary jeepneys which can only accomodate 18.
For anyone planning to visit HCMC--there are two reliable, safe taxi companies: Mai Linh Group and Vinasun Taxi. Each company uses both these vehicle types (sedan and SUV). Each company's color scheme is consistent. I STRONGLY advise against using taxis of any other company.

The working out of Tinsley on a Saturday hasn't been all that reliable over the last weeks, so this was a complete gamble but with decent weather at last, rather than snow and sleet, the gamble paid off and in fact the time-table reported its departure accurately with the working only around 2km away in Tinsley Yard. What made the whole thing more worthwhile was of course the nice 'Cherry Red' class 60, as DBC call this colour, but I would call this 'orange-red', coming along hauling 2600 tonnes of steel slabs from the Outokumpu steelworks, who have also suffered recent job losses, at the north-west end of the yard and close to the Amey Stone Processing plant, the latter residing on land once occupied by part of the vast Tinsley Marshalling Yard. It was good to see such a long train of steel slab come over the River Don on the massive box bridge affair, with its little 'front-door' access way, facing the camera, the wagons trailing back around the corner past the still extant building of Tinsley Railway Station, just south of Tinsley Junction; the junction of the GCs line seen here and that from along the Blackburn Valley line to Barnsley. In the lower right-hand corner is the small, single-line bridge which carried trains over into the Cohens Scrapyard area at the side of the River Don and the map at right, from Old Maps, at 1:1250 resolution shows the connection where the line joining the Gc's main line along through Rotherham and north to Mexborough. The scrap yard line joined the main line just behind what was then, 1968, called the Fitzwilliam Steel Works and was a the west-end of the vast Steel, Peach & Tozer which ran all along Sheffield Road to the outskirts of Rotherham. The line into the scrapyard went steeply downhill onto the site of what appears to have been called the 'Coborn Scrap Metal Works' on this map and I am not sure when it became Cohens. A picture of a Ruston & Hornsby diesel shunter travelling over the bridge can be seen here-
www.flickr.com/photos/blue-diesels/8205978078
this was taken by John Turner in October 1981 and clearly shows the same bridge; the shunter pushing a single wagon of scrap up-grade from the works and on towards the main line, visible just behind it. Today the traction looks much smarter but the cargo is still related to metal in its various forms; this one being DBS class 66, 66100, on the 2600 tonne steel slab train, 6D03, Tinsley S.S. to Immingham Dock Nordic, where presumably it will be exported? Do we still do that or is the consignment bound for shipment to another UK port where it will continue its journey inland.

I've had my 2005 Chevy Silverado 1500 WT for 5 years. It has been my favorite even when my Malibu was new and not so damaged.
It was there to help me move hundreds of computers when I worked for the local school district.
It was there when I moved from my sh*tty apartment to my my house (that I still live).
It was there when my best male friend moved multiple times. It hauled what little he had including the big CRT HDTV.
It was there when my brother moved from my folks house to his apartment. It will be there when he moves from his current apartment to his new place soon.
I bought the truck with 7 miles on it in July 22nd, 2005. I had a V6 1999 S10 with a warped frame. Employee discounts were massive, and I saw me moving all kinds of amounts of district computers from one place to another. I traded in my S10 and bought this beauty. I haven't regretted my decision.
I knew I would need a full size truck when I moved from my apartment to a custom ordered home I specified.
My mom and dad both had a Silverado's back in the day. I've always wanted one cause they did. They told me it was very helpful to them back in the day. While I didn't know exactly what they were talking about... I wanted one.
My Silverado has help me, my family, and my friends countless times over. As long as she is reliable it will not leave my possession.
Until then, my truck lives in my garage. It comes out to haul home goods for my folks and my own home. It gets me safely to my destination; I like to take it when I'm on a night out. No matter what, the truck gets better treatment than most anyone else does. As it should be.
It's also been paid off for 3 years. I may screw up in life and never have anything else in my name... but I will have the truck.
Microchip expanded its LIN portfolio with the LIN 2.1 and SAE J2602-2 compliant and low-power MCP2003A transceiver, MCP2021A, MCP2022A, MCP2025 and MCP2050 LIN System Basis Chips (SBCs), and PIC16F1829LIN System in Package (SiP). These devices include high integration options, such as a voltage regulator, windowed watchdog timer, battery monitor output and a MCU. Additionally, they feature high robustness, including high Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) and Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) levels of more than 15 kV on the LIN bus and battery-voltage pins, meeting or exceeding automotive manufacturer requirements such as Version 1.3 of the “OEM Hardware Requirements for LIN, CAN and FlexRay Interfaces in Automotive Applications.” The voltage regulator that is integrated on some of the devices has also been specifically designed to operate in the automotive environment, and can withstand reverse battery conditions, +43V load dump transients and double-battery jump starts. This robustness enables reliable communication in harsh environments, and the high level of integration lowers cost and complexity while saving space. For more info, visit www.microchip.com/LIN.

Ends of her eyebrows are lighter now, she has longer upper eyeliner, her eyes are about one tone lighter, she got whiter sclera and her lips have more details. Tried to keep her original as possible, but I had to make these changes.

Hong Kong Transport - Trucks
The Hong Kong Truck Culture
The number of Trucks, Vans* and Special Purpose Vehicles (Light, Medium & Heavy) registered + licenced in Hong Kong seems to fluctuate between 120,000 - 125,000 vehicles and presumably new trucks registered are offset by old trucks being retired or sold over the border in China.
*Vans are classified as Light Goods Vehicles and are not shown in this album
In Hong Kong Trucks are classified as GOODS VEHICLES By the Transport Department - see below
☛Light Goods Vehicles - Goods vehicles of permitted gross vehicle weight not exceeding 5.5 tonnes.
☛Medium Goods Vehicles - Goods vehicles of permitted gross vehicle weight exceeding 5.5 tonnes but not exceeding 24 tonnes.
☛Heavy Goods Vehicles - Goods vehicles of permitted gross vehicle weight exceeding 24 tonnes but not exceeding 38 tonnes.
The major truck types you tend to see in urban areas are trucks carrying construction materials or waste, dump trucks, concrete mixers and all sizes of delivery trucks... outside of the urban areas it is container trucks and large trucks carrying construction materials.
The following brands of Trucks can be seen on the streets of Hong Kong and include:-
Beiben ✚ Bell ✚ CAMC ✚ CNHTC ✚ DAF ✚ Dennis ✚ Dong Feng ✚ FAW ✚ Fuso ✚ Foton ✚ Ford ✚ Hino ✚ Howo ✚ Hyundai ✚ Isuzu ✚ Iveco ✚ JAC ✚ Kato ✚ KIA ✚ Liebherr ✚ MAN ✚ Mercedes Benz ✚ Mitsubishi ✚ Nissan ✚ Renault ✚ Scania ✚ Shacman ✚ Sinotruk ✚ Suzuki ✚ Toyota ✚ UD ✚ Volvo ✚ Zoomlion
Hong Kong is a brand conscious place even for trucks (!) hence the popularity of the European brands, Scania and Man are very popular and even the older trucks look the business and they are utterly reliable.
Isuzu is the market leader in terms of sale volume for all types of trucks.
