Relaxing
A leopard relaxing in a tree always draws big crowds of onlookers - we could see the congregated cars before we saw the leopard. There was a scramble to get a good spot, and initially we couldn't get a decent view, but it didn't matter, as the cat appeared to be sleeping, resting his head on his front legs. As people got bored of looking at a sleeping leopard, we managed to get into a position where we could see part of his body clearly, and as luck would have it, he lifted his head up and appeared to be staring right at us! Magical!

I normally work from home on Tuesdays and Fridays, and given the nice weather I decided to relax a bit over lunch. The book I'm reading is historical fiction. It's "1862" by Robert Conroy and assumes that the British enter the American Civil War on the side of the Confederacy. It's extremely well written, as are Conroy's other historical fiction novels. The thought struck me that this would also make an interesting Photo a Day shot since I'm rarely on the front side of the camera. As a bit of an aside, I don't know who invented these folding camp chairs, but in my view that person is deserving of a Nobel Prize, right alongside the person that invented those Christmas gift bags.
Post processing started with a classic filter in Topaz B&W FX. I adjusted color sensitivity sliders, adaptive exposure, regions, contrast, and boost black. A levels adjustment was added in PSE.
When I am relaxing at home, no matter how my day has been or how my evening is going, I let inspiration take the wheel in some shape, form, or fashion! That is the moment when I write in a journal, practice with graphic design, or fiddle with a random web design sample! Usually music, meditation, yoga, or audiobooks lead the way with my brain waves close behind!
For example, with this photo I have been in deep reflection of the mixed emotions of the week, from stress to bliss to love. Being a female is harder than most people are aware, even than some women are aware. We go through a lot, we deal with a lot, we suffer with a lot, and we praise others a lot. We give and give and give some more, most of the time to many more than actually deserve it. Even with this in mind, I would not change a damn day!

This gorilla enjoyed some relaxation time, while the other one sat in a lotus position in front of the waterfall. No joke.
My mother reads a book by one of her favorite authors, Nora Roberts, and relaxes in a big, comfy chair in our house after a stressful day at work.
