Framed live orchid in the Mapplethorpe exhibition. Selby Botanical gardens, Sarasota Florida. Hasselblad X1D.

The former American Thread Co. mill in Willimantic, Connecticut. This section is apartments I don’t know if it’s rentals or condos but I’m standing on a beautifully reimagined footbridge. When I was a kid, as my mother reminded me this is where we drove our car to get from one side to the other. Now it’s benches, flowers, and views of waterfalls. Just lovely.

Thanks indeed everyone for your personal comments and also your support from selected groups.

Awards are encouraging and especially from those who add my work to their 'faves'.

‘Reimaginings’ are square-cropped images taken of marks, weathered paint, and rust seen by me in the urban environment which appeal to me as abstract shapes and forms. Some of these photographs are segments of faded and much repainted and over-painted graffiti surfaces, paint spills and general weathering.

This shot is an in-camera double exposure image.

Here is a shot of comet neowise, that I've superimposed with one of my favorite back roads to make for some leading lines. Enjoy!

Perpendicular, interrupted strips of bricks form the facade of Goes town hall. They play a role in the complex energy management system of this building.

Just playing around and kinda liked this....

Digital manipulation of a macro flower photo, enhancing color, contrast, edges, and detail, while adding a subtle painterly effect. Cropped to square format. A wild geranium, I think.

A heron photo reimagined as an oil painting. I really liked the pose from this shot and the still water backdrop, but the exposure compensation was deliberately set low, since I was mainly shooting white egrets in the afternoon sun. As a result, when this heron flew nearby into the shade, the original exposure came out a bit too dark, especially around the head and neck. The noise, darkness and slight blur on the talons inspired me to play with this image and experiment with the oil painting filter in PS. Exposure fusion in photomatix helped flesh out the range in the exposure and a very subtle lighting effect was also applied in photoshop.

View large to see the painterly effect.

I took an image of the millenium bridge going over the St Pauls and created a new image with that as the base. I added some cathedral interior images, so have played with internal / external cathedral. Would love to know any thoughts on it!

I thought that these three 'Reimaginings', two of which I haven't shown on Flickr before, look quite good together.
