A triptych done for a college assignment based on colour. This colour was Green.
Model was Nadya, my sister.
This empty Culligan bottle was just sitting there, needing to be photographed. I was kicking back, watching some classic Star Wars with the boys, and I realized that our coffee table is glass. The creative, now Strobist influenced, mind starting thinking.
So I took the bottle and put it on top of the table. With my Vivtar 285hv below the table, shooting upwards. A few test shots and walla!
What do you think?
It is so grey out that I needed some colors!! They are forecasting a snow blizzard for tomorrow :(

I talked to a man who lives across Rt. 250 from the store, and he said it closed up in the late 1980's, though someone tried to turn it into a junk/antique store that didn't do much business. To see that old hand-cranked pump though is something else.
I started out with the 28mm, then 35mm, and finished with the 50mm/f1.4. All good lenses, no issues with flare. I had the appropriate OEM hoods on them all.
A green refreshing photo for hot and dry summer!
Please let me know your thoughts, suggestions if any and yes all kinds of critiques are welcome!

Spent the holiday with the family, doing the BBQ/swim party thing. The pool was so refreshing on such a hot day.
The roving band of capuchins on the beach stole our box of granola bars. Pam & I were sitting on the bench, snacking. The box was between us, only at most a foot or two away from us. One of the monkeys jumped down onto the bench, grabbed the box, and ran back up the tree. He reached into the box and went through it, but all that was inside was an empty wrapper. He tossed the empty box and wrapper down to the ground. The monkeys were certainly bold as well as smart.
I went for a brief swim in the Pacific Ocean and it was nice and refreshing.

I find having a nice cup of tea refreshing and relaxing.
wit - setup by a south facing window, and used a reflection disc to fill in some shadows. Used a tripod and remote shutter.
in PP - sharpened the tea leaves, cropped and straightened.
