Taken two days after heavy rains - and my previously posted image - Elakala #2 still had some great waterflow and silty colored water. I photographed the falls of Elakala on numerous occasions during my stay last month - either alone or with friends - I have many different images of the falls, taken in various stages of waterflow and / or under various conditions of light. I trust as I post more images of these beautiful waterfalls, you won't tire of them . . . I know I never tire of seeing or photographing them.
It's a little late but I wanted to wish you all a very happy new year! The beauty of a new year is the metaphorical refresh button on our lives. I'm determined to make this year a year of passions. I will only concentrate on things I am passionate about. Life's too short to be bored! I hope that this year brings you everything you long for and more!
One week in and how are your resolutions holding up? :)
So my first picture of the year combines a few elements that I love, movement, drama and nature and it all came together perfectly! All the elements except for the tornado were there. This dog was so cute! Very keen to jump about with me! Thanks @howardstagg for inspiring the edit.
Usually I take self portraits in secluded areas, this one however was out in the open. At one point I had a bunch of people curiously watching me from the end of the meadow. No doubt wondering what this crazy girl was doing in the middle of the field with such impractical footwear!

CN 8314, formerly 5796, takes the tight curve through the yard area in Ranier, Minnesota while rear of the train is still crossing the headwaters of the Rainy River over the historic cantilever bridge.
The locomotive is part of a rebuilding program by CN, and the unit's classification is now SD70IACC.

Metroline West ADL Enviro200MMC DEL2166 (LK16DFC) arrives at Ruislip station having completed a journey on Route U1, on its second day back following mid-life refurbishment.
I've tried a shot like this before, and hated the results I got. But, I'm pretty happy with this one - It could possibly be a little sharper, but I also think my vision is starting to go so I may be wrong on that.... either / or.
Strobist Info - Gelled SB600 into white background snooted at 1/2. 2nd SB600 left of frame at 1/5th (?) to light the peel a little. Lime slice in a vase filled with club soda pressed up against the glass from behind.
Its been too cold and to dead looking for me to have any motivation to shoot these past couple months. Its now warm, the bees are buzzing, and the flowers are out and making me sneeze. I figured tonight was as good a night as any other to get my butt out there again.
