Reflection
It was a time
Of exploration
Thought penetrating
Walls of regret
Self-knowledge
Seeking fulfillment
You held him
In burning desire
Until need placed
His book upon
Your shelf

Canon 5D Mark II + Canon EF 24mm L f/1.4 II @f/1.4 / ISO 800 / 1.6sec.
Shot oct.25th in Laksvatnbukt / Balsfjord.
Supposed to be a really high activity, but it did not show. We also had cloudy weather the whole night, about to give up then about 1am the sky cleared up and we got a small show. Very very clear water and absolutely no winds giving a really crisp clear mirror-like reflection here by using a short exposure time.
PLEASE PLEASE no flashy big group icons!! Real comments are always welcome, positive and constructive negative, but PLEASE spare me of those fancy flickr-idol logos!!
An office building's reflection in a sidewalk puddle in downtown Indianapolis, Indiana. This photo is untouched!
Spotted this perfect reflection pond on the way to one of the most visited castles in the Czech Republic, Hluboka Castle. It was evening sunset time...the reflection, the sunset, the lily pad provided a great combination for a scene you cannot miss.

reflection on an aluminium screen of a tree and some white patio chairs, Shot on a beautiful day in Malpica,Galicia ,Spain
Some lovely cloud reflections on the River Forth at low tide today. Managed a walk over the bridge and back - about 3 km round trip. Highlight of the trip was a pair of Peregrine working the Feral Pigeons on the bridge structure. Didn't see the kill itself but one was successful. Needless to say my lens has now been repairs but has not yet been returned but these were the first shots with the repaired camera. Longannet Power Station on the left and Grangemouth straight ahead

Reflection of El Capitan and the "three brothers" in the Merced River at Yosemite's "Valley View." Yosemite National Park, CA.
Yesterday I found out reflection of the moon on the river surface, and took this shot from the Sunset Bridge over the Manose River. The moon was almost full (14 days old), and the river was very calm at that moment. For the first time I realized that the moon was reflected on the water so brightly and clearly.
昨日の日没直後,吹上海浜公園のサンセットブリッジから月を眺めていたところ,川面に月が映っていることに気付きました.月がこんなに明るくはっきり水に映ることを初めて実感しました.
This shot was taken while leading a group of six and seven year old children on a spring nature walk through a wooded urban park. One child called our attention to a tiny water strider walking along the surface of the water, a lesson in water surface tension itself. I noticed the vivid reflections which appeared particularly brilliant and unusually colorful as a backdrop against the radiant verdant tones of the bright, fresh, leafy vegetation. The contour of the beech in the right foreground created a serpentine focal point. The bed of soft textured moss provided yet another of nature's nascent enhancements. The effect reminded me of an impressionist painting, an observation that shall be shared with the children as a entry point into that art form. I had set my Olympus E-510 on its "Vivid" mode which helps to account for the brilliance in those backgrond reflections.

In spite of the recent rain, there are still many beautiful leaves to be seen. The weather this morning was perfect for a quick walk around the pond at Long's Park, complete with lovely reflections...

Actually I don't like the floor in my flat so much. The fake marble pattern can look quite dirty and distracting in pictures. But in the recent Galleries 263, 260 and 254 I've noticed in some images there is a nice shine on the floor. So I have tested different lighting settings to achieve the best mirroring and gave the floor a thorough cleaning with a high-gloss floor detergent. The mirroring is still weak, therefore the shadows from my body must overlay the reflection in order not to fade the mirroring. The only way I could handle this is to face the flashes agains the walls behind me and not to light up the mirror image too much. After some tests I think this is the best I can do. The reflections add another interesting component to the images, which I really like. What do you think?
Stay safe and healthy!
