The main river that flows through Northamptonshire is the River Nene. This rises in the west of the county, eventually flowing slowly across the Fens before reaching the sea at The Wash. There were once numerous watermills on the river, and this one is at Great Doddington, just outside Wellingborough. Dating from the mid-1700s, the Grade II-listed building is now a private residence.

On the mirror there is the text saying I'm fantastic. This kind of mirror was given to pupils at the school where I worked. I suppose the idea was to boost their self esteem. The mirrors originally came from a Swedish insurance company.

The reflection is from a spinning disc which isn't spinning here.

Day 15/365

Reflections off the Yarra River of the Southbank section of the city early this morning. My visits to the city in the mornings are now well before sunrise so are in effect night shots. This is a challenge as the exposures are 2-4 seconds meaning they will be blurry if not stabilised.

Reflections on the River Torrens

Brigalow Creek, Meandarra Qld

It was an early and chilly morning in Buttermere, just after sunrise. I have been shooting for a little while, and I cannot begin conveying how good it felt to have all that place for myself. Having a job that demands to be constantly ‘on’, doesn’t allow much down time and at times we all need to recharge, with no distractions, clear our minds and think with greater clarity.

In a culture where we often confuse the notion of being alone with loneliness, the ability to appreciate that 'me-time' allows us to reap its benefits. Some value the freedom of not having to follow the lead of others, no obligation to plan ahead, and no pressure to talk to anyone.

Personally, I always cherish those times when I’m alone with nature, and it is in such moments that questions find answers. More than that, at those times I choose to give something to myself, quality time, and by doing so I have made myself my own first choice.

Getting into my car I was intrigued by my shadow in the back seat and my reflection in the car window, so I did a click.

My upload for a weekly photo challenge I'm doing with a group of Flickr friends. This week's theme is "Reflection".

My image this week is one that I found on my phone (and pimped just a little), taken recently at very close range of the centre of a round driving light on a 4WD.

Thank you everyone for your visit, favorites and comments.
