The Fairmont Banff Springs resort was built in 1888 and is styled after a Scottish baronial castle. It is a National Historic site located in Banff National Park and offers 16 restaurants and 14 shops among many other luxurious amenities. We enjoyed a fabulous brunch here twice and I enjoyed the spa after a long day out shooting. Another little slice of heaven in the Canadian Rockies!

Stanley Park is a 405-hectare (1,001-acre) public park that borders the downtown of Vancouver in British Columbia, Canada and is almost entirely surrounded by waters of Vancouver Harbour and English Bay. The park has a long history and was one of the first areas to be explored in the city. The land was originally used by indigenous peoples for thousands of years before British Columbia was colonized by the British during the 1858 Fraser Canyon Gold Rush. For many years after colonization, the future park with its abundant resources would also be home to non-aboriginal settlers. The land was later turned into Vancouver's first park when the city incorporated in 1886. It was named after Lord Stanley, 16th Earl of Derby, a British politician who had recently been appointed governor general. Unlike other large urban parks, Stanley Park is not the creation of a landscape architect, but rather the evolution of a forest and urban space over many years. Most of the man-made structures we see today were built between 1911 and 1937 under the influence of then superintendent W.S. Rawlings. Additional attractions, such as a polar bear exhibit, aquarium, and miniature train, were added in the post-war period. Much of the park remains as densely forested as it was in the late 1800s, with about a half million trees, some of which stand as tall as 76 meters (249 ft) and are up to hundreds of years old. Thousands of trees were lost (and many replanted) after three major windstorms that took place in the past 100 years, the last in 2006. Significant effort was put into constructing the near-century-old Vancouver Seawall, which can draw thousands of residents and visitors to the park every day. The park also features forest trails, beaches, lakes, children's play areas, and the Vancouver Aquarium, among many other attractions.

Last May I took a trip to Montana and stopped by Glacier National Park while I was there. This shot is from the main turnout along the Going to the Sun road when you go from West Glacier to East Glacier. Whenever I see burnt out places like this I always wonder how it would have looked in all its glory. Too bad but it will grow back, healthier and thicker. Refined by fire.

Although refined, the changes and additions are only small one's. There are now hidden hinges for the bonnet/hood ( there was no hinges on the original build ).. i thought the wheel i had used on the front 1/4 panel lacked detail, took me a while thinking about how to make that part better, " hope you like it " The dash is now complete with the addition of a working compass on the centre console, and a little bit of extra gold trim on the rear wings/fenders..

I've refined this recipe a bit from my prior post months ago
1 can chipotle peppers in adobo sauce
5 garlic cloves
2 tbsp dried minced onion
1 tsp Creole seasoning
1 tbsp soy sauce
2 tsp Worcestershire sauce
1/4 cup olive oil
1/4 cup vinegar
2 lbs chicken wings separated at the joints and tips discarded
Drain the chipotle chilies of some of the adobo sauce. Blend all the ingredients in a food processor or small blender
[if you want the chipotle flavor without all the heat, remove the spines and seeds from the chilies before blending; but I put them in whole!]
Mix the sauce with the wings in a gallon ziplock bag and refrigerate overnight.
Shake off excess marinade and grill at 375˚ for 30 min [Traeger pellet grill or indirect heat on gas or charcoal grill.] [of course this will work in the oven too but won’t have the smoked flavor, you could add 1 tsp of Liquid Smoke to the marinade]
I was still looking for more heat so I added this sauce for serving the wings:
Melt 1/2 stick of butter in a small saucepan. To this add 5 oz Tabasco Chipotle pepper sauce and whisk in well. To this I added Habanero pepper sauce until I was satisfied with the right heat, so this is your variable to control the intensity of the ‘fire’.

Strolling in Sobieski park and the Florist’s Gardens
Just a short walk from the Domaine Royal de Laeken (Royal Estate of Laeken), these gardens are the result of Leopold II's wishes. This majestic leafy-green area extended the Stuyvenberg Estate. In 1999, a public park was created there. The different gardens which now make up the park reinterpret the historic nature of the site and give it a refined modernity, whilst meeting the strictest environmental standards. As the highpoint of the visit, the balconies emphasise the sweeping view that stretches from Notre-Dame de Laeken to the Palais de Justice (law courts)
