Una de las cosas que no quería dejar pasar este año era pillar los desvíos de mercantes por la costa en Cataluña.
Aprovechando que daban sol bastantes días, nos calentamos y salimos a las 2 de la mañana el lunes de Madrid, para plantarnos a las 8 en nuestro primer punto de caza.
Una de las fotos que más me gustó fue el segundo día, cuando nos vino este TECO con una 251 impecable, me apeteció sacarla más de cerca a pesar del cable sabiendo que no habría problemas de limpieza de graffitis.
CRI&P X-SP6562West crosses the Canadian River near Logan, NM on March 04, 1974. I want to say this was RI Tr#61 and therefore not an extra but I really don't remember. At any rate all of these "dirty mty's" will most likely be forwarded to the PFE facility in Tuscon after arrival in El Paso.
Standing at the sides, I wanted to go on the rocks and traverse to the edge of this reef just to see what's at the end. Laziness got the best of me so I just photograph the sides. Now I wish I've gone that extra mile, though.
MC 2010, 2012, and LTEX 3815 switch out reefers at Maritime Terminal in New Bedford, MA. 3815 was added to the consist here and, to my dismay, was added on the other end of what could've been a desirable northbound chase.
After photographing 3 westbound trains in full sun, naturally the one I was actually after arrived once the clouds were locked in tight...so it goes :}
A pair of CitiRail ES44ACs (on lease to the BNSF at the time) bring a westbound reefer block out of the desert and into the Tehachapis at Warren. I don't remember the particulars of this service but it was short lived.

In July 1984 on Wyoming’s Sherman Hill, a westbound Union Pacific grain train waits at Dale Junction, Wyoming, on Track 3, as an eastbound reefer train sits over on Track 1. Crossing over from Track 1 to Track 2 is a hot westbound led by a DDA40X and two SD40-2s, with the head end brakemen from both stopped trains on the ground making an inspection of the train threading the needle.

'Reefer Jacket' had the perfect nautical appearance as it should with its four brass buttons, large collar and pockets. Clad in this navy blue wool felt jacket, Sindy could withstand any cold breeze from the sea.
It was sold as a single piece so I teamed it up with Sindy's denims, a white scarf and her original shoes.
