Macro Mondays - Redux 2017 -My Favorite Theme of the Year

First of all, thanks to the moderators and members of the Macro Monday group to keep this amazing group running in 2017! I know it was sometimes not easy, but I appreciate all the hard work everyone puts in. :)
I couldn't participate as much as I wanted the past year, but I enjoyed the weeks I could.
Because I wast not able to choose one favorite theme, I decided to integrate a few themes. :) The themes are listed below.
The length of the image is more or less 5 cm in real life.
Themes:
- B&W
- Stick
- Found in the kitchen
- Abstract Macro
I should also mention that one of my favorite themes of this year -that is not included in this photo- is 'Inspired by a song'. I dedicated a monthly project to it in 2017. The link to all 12 photos of this project is below. :)

Redux 2017– My Favourite Theme of the Year.
Not necessarily my favourite theme of the year, as I didn’t truly understand it last time, so I’m hoping to do better this week on the theme of ‘High Key’ from August last year.
A white Kaiser vase that we bought when we lived in Germany, a nice memento of wonderful years in a lovely country.
I'm away from home for a few days and reliant on just my phone so apologies if I don't get to reply to all of your comments or pictures straight away.
This was a difficult compromise :-) I think Macro Mondays has challenged all of us members throughout the year. I chose to focus on some elements I used for the "Relaxation" theme (surfboards, see here: www.flickr.com/photos/134352553@N04/35597512936/) and a new take on the "Musical instruments" theme (piano instead of guitar, see here: www.flickr.com/photos/134352553@N04/24270050178/).
To me, using creativity to figure out what to do is quite different from the "busy" daily life. It is like diving into a paradise where heavenly music plays and "forces" you to relax... agree?

I only joined MM in September so I picked a Theme that I hadn't done, from earlier in the year: August 14 High Key.
Thought I'd enjoy the challenge of trying something new (for me). It certainly was a challenge!
In 1992 my sister bought this tiny porcelain box for me from a market in Ireland and gave it to me for Christmas in York, England. It's made in Scotland. :)

Elijo una espiral como mi primera foto de este 2018 por varias razones...porque la espiral es para mi la geometría perfecta...el salir de un punto e ir alejándote de él, o el plantearte una meta e ir siempre buscando el llegar a ella...es el dar vueltas y vueltas siempre en una misma dirección, sin perder el objetivo a lograr...y eso quiero que sea mi 2018, un año de búsqueda de nuevas metas e ilusiones, nuevos retos y logros, pero sin dejar de ser yo, por muchas vueltas que de mi vida.

I had hoped to get it more High Key, but without any sunlight outside I had little chance, especially inside. However, I did manage to get Bokeh when I wasn't trying.
Better viewed large and thank you for your favourites. :O)
I really enjoyed last week's theme of holiday bokeh. This is the end of a light bulb on one of our outside Christmas trees with some cool holiday bokeh dancing around the backyard. HBW!
Image is appropriate for Textures, Made of Metal and Rust themes. Barbed wire shot above black background with the latter then selectively under-exposed in Lightroom. In-camera focus bracketing images of barbed portion stacked using Helicon to achieve detail.

I joined Flickr some years ago, but wasn't really active until about 1 year ago.
Noticed Macro Mondays sometime this spring, via Explore I think.
Many blue and orange shots, very beautiful.
Joined immediately.
Excellent moderating of the group (patient :-)) and very helpful tricks in a super active group with some inspiring shots.
I do have a lot of images, that I certainly could have done better for this week, but couldn't resist this theme, that inspired me in the first place.
This shot is of a blue champagne glass.
Background glossy paper, reflecting both the glass and an orange table cloth.
Yes, I DO own an orange tablecloth......
Should have used it in the 'Found in the Kitchen' week.

Macro Monday redux 2017: My favorite theme of the year: Lit by candlelight and bokeh.
I made a picture of a few oliebollen (the bulbs) made by my husband. Every old year he keeps this tradition to make the bulbs for the family.
Oliebollen is a typical Dutch tradition that are eaten at the turn of the year. The bulbs are bread with sugar, raisins, currants and sometimes Apple, deep fried in oil, then sprinkled with powdered sugar.

June 19th, Member’s Choice: Drips, Drops and Splashes
My first contribution to Macro Mondays was July 3rd, 2017 so rather than re-visit a theme that I’d already attempted I decided to have a go at drips, drops and splashes. I’ve always been intrigued by some of the better images I’ve seen in this genre, very much along the lines of “how did they do that?” So, what you see here is a rank amateur’s first attempt. Thanks for all your faves and comments. Happy New Year to you all!
