According to my trusty weather app, it's 97F here in New York City and 88F in Houston. I thought we came back to escape the summer heat...
*I've decided to remove it for it's really not a good image, but I wanted to ask for your opinion. I'm sure whatever happened, it probably had to do with me and not the camera. Perhaps I really didn't open the window entirely? Both of us remembered it was opened, and if it wasn't, I would have realized it afterward and immediately opened it fully and to retake another photo. But, maybe.... hmmmm?!?

Summer Vibes series explores all those summer feels as I explore some new perspectives. As always, I hope you enjoy.
This shot was deeply personal so I will let the viewer find their own way through.
This is a capture I've had in my mind for a very long time. I mean like months. Did it turn out the way I envisioned it? I don't really know. Kind of. Maybe.
Anyway, at the risk of being excruciatingly boring and I know this will be, I'll just say that this tune really inspired the image. I probably heard it the first time in one of my parent's cars when I was about 5 or 6. But hey, who remembers anything past little blurbs when you're so young right?
Both my parents were huge music lovers and this tune was one I did hear often growing up. Well momma still sings away and has a tune for everything that happens in life. We lost daddy in 2019.
Anyway the lyrics of this song never rang so true for me personally until one cold morning right after Christmas in 2009. That morning I faced a very personal and real challenge.
Later, when all was quiet again and I was safe at home and away from 'the life' this song blared from my daddy's old CD player and when it did, he pulled over to hold me because I was crying so hard.
So yea, this tune brings back some very bitter sweet memories.
I hope if anyone is dealing with an addiction of any kind and/or if you're depressed you'll seek help today. The demons will always be there but you can overcome them. I promise you can. There's hope. Reach out for help today.

I'm back from a very unsettled week of weather on Skye. In over ten years of visiting this wonderful island it was just about the worst week I've had. On the last evening however things perked up and settled a little so I headed to the fairy pools. Conditions were superb so expect a few more from here but my favorite moment was when this rainbow appeared over the Cuillin and Skye redeemed itself.
I will hopefully catch up with everybodys streams over the next few days.

Beginning its westbound trek through the Rockies, the California Zephyr swings towards the portal of Tunnel 1 in Coal Creek, Colorado. This was my 2nd go at this shot, after my 1st attempt was foiled by Amtrak's lack of rested crews in February.

Yesterday, I shared a photo of this juvenile tern rising from the water empty-beaked — a valiant effort, but no catch. Just a few hours later, at the exact same spot, the same young bird tried again… and this time, success! With wings wide and droplets flying, it emerged from the water clutching a tiny fish. Proof that persistence pays off — and a satisfying sequel to yesterday’s miss.

I am constantly amazed at the beauty God created in our world, but something that I have been pondering as of late is how did some of it end up where it did. I am going to propose a theory, and not a popular one. The popular theory is that long ago the continents drifted away during what was known as the continental drift. The theory of evolution also denies the occurrence of the Great Flood, which is something that I am going to highlight on. In the original creation account in Genesis 1:9-10 it states this, "Then God said, 'Let the waters below the heavens be gathered into one place, and let the dry land appear'; and it was so. God called the dry land earth, and the gathering of the waters He called seas; and God saw that it was good." In this text it does not state that the dry land was created as multiple continents. God also stated that it was good. The earth was the only place fit for man to live, it had everything that man and creature needed to survive. It would make sense that before the flood that the land mass was one, not divided by oceans and seas. As we know now, many countries have to trade to other regions to receive key products for daily life. Products are shipped across oceans and seas daily. All the things that are needed for well rounded daily life are not always accessible in a certain region, but rather have to be imported. Now, instead of believing in a continental drift, I believe that there was a violent separation of the continents during the flood. Genesis 7:11-12 states, "In the six hundredth year of Noah's life, in the second month, on the seventeenth day of the month, on the same day all the fountains of the great deep burst open, and the floodgates of the sky were opened. The rain fell upon the earth for forty days and forty nights." Later in the chapter it says this, "The water prevailed more and more upon the earth, so that the high mountains everywhere under the heavens were covered. The water prevailed fifteen cubits higher, and the mountains were covered." (Gen. 7:19-20) We know that water is both a very powerful and destructive force. We have seen the devastating impacts of floods before, they have shaped canyons, reshaped entire landscapes, and ruined entire cities. When Genesis states the great fountains of the deep burst open, we would believe that these were springs and powerful ones. So if you have the pressure of water from beneath, on top, and all around during such a catastrophic flood event that covered the whole earth and the highest mountains, it would easily explain how the continents were torn apart, deep fault lines created, mountain ranges pushed to higher heights, high cliffs, wind swept sand dune mountains, and deep canyon gorges. It would also explain how fossils ended up in some very odd places as these creatures were swept away during the flood. If you were to look at the edge of the continents, it is very similar to the edge of the continent on the opposite side of the ocean from it. You can visibly see from satellite the fault that runs between Europe/Africa and North/South America. Rock layers are found at almost the exact same elevation across the earth. So instead of viewing a slow evolutionary process of change over an extreme amount of time relying on a very random process which Darwin himself stated his own theory to have many holes in it, view it as creation recovering from a severe catastrophic event that wreaked more havoc than what we could fathom. I also want to state very clearly, that this is my opinion from what I have seen in the pattern of what Scripture states, the beauty of creation that I have witnessed, and common sense. I am not stating that I could not be wrong. I do wholly believe that the Bible is true in what it says including about Creation and the Great Flood. the Bible does not explicitly state what my personal opinion is. My opinion is based off of the patterns that I see in nature and how catastrophic that I believe the flood was. I pray that this would challenge your thinking, that it would open up opportunities for healthy dialogue, and that it would ultimately increase your longing for the Second Coming of Jesus where everything will once again be made new!
