Coming down the hilltop monastery (Swayambhu, I think), you get these brick dwellings, souvenir shops and the ubiquitous Buddhas.
Following months of extensive refurbishment, the landmark redbrick Pierhead building on the National Assembly’s Cardiff Bay estate re-opened its doors on 1 March 2010 to take on its new role as a unique events and visitor attraction.

Most editing came in the form of playing around with the contrast and brightness within this image which helped to enhance the redbrick tones of the piece by piece wall. At the top of the image there is a gold glint amongst the brick work which to me gives a stronger link to the idea that this place is attempting to peel back the layers almost as though it is a caterpillar breaking through the rock hard outer shell of it chrysalis to let out this beautiful butterfly
An arbor spans over the new red brick patio. A reflecting pool adds interest to the overall space. In the future, flowering vines will add welcome shade to this small Southern garden.
