Following months of extensive refurbishment, the landmark redbrick Pierhead building on the National Assembly’s Cardiff Bay estate re-opened its doors on 1 March 2010 to take on its new role as a unique events and visitor attraction.

About Prasat Kravan
Prasat Kravan is a small 10th century temple consisting of five reddish brick towers on a common terrace, located at Angkor, Cambodia south of the artificial lake or baray called Srah Srang. Its original Sanskrit name is unknown. The modern name in Khmer, "Prasat Kravan", means cardamom temple. The temple was dedicated to Vishnu in 921 CE, according to inscription on door jambs
The temple is oriented to the East and surrounded by a small moat. Its exterior is striking for its classical lines and symmetry, the central and the south tower have superstructures which take advantage of false prospective by simple means of diminishing tiers. The sanctuaries interiors are remarkable for the large bas relief depictions of Vishnu and Lakshmi that have been carved into the walls of reddish brick, connected by a vegetable compound. This type of sculptured artwork rather common in Cham temples, but almost unique in known Khmer monuments

This impressive redbrick church was originally part of the convent on this site. After the land was given to the Wrangel family, it became part of their estate and used as their parish church.

Just around the corner from Royal Albert Hall, the Jamaican High Commission is just south of Hyde Park, in the center of the area sometimes referred to as "Albertopolis." It was built in 1878 as two separate houses, known at the time as "Lowther Gardens." The architect was Scottish, John James Stevenson (1831-1908), The building is in the style known in Britain as "Queen Anne," much praised at the time for its use of "honest red brick" (as opposed to the lying and deceitful white stucco of so many mid-Victorian houses.)
On the Tuesday morning session i was working to help clear away the infill from the Chesterfield canal, with others, and found several old house bricks. This one has frogging and an unusual 'nobble' in the frog. Other bricks unearthed were completely flat with no frogging which date before 1840.
