A cake for a lady who has become a fully fledged member of the red hat society ordered for her by her friends in the group.
Just happened to be driving by a Red Hat Society convention. These lovely ladies agreed to let me take their pic. Thank you ladies.

This is a tiny mushroom, the grains on the top of the cap are grains of sand. As tiny as it was it was easy to spot this single mushroom as the stalk glowed yellow with the morning sun shining through it. I'd be very happy if someone can help id it. I am thinking one of the red Waxcaps maybe a Scarlet?

'When I am an old woman I shall wear purple
With a red hat which doesn’t go, and doesn’t suit me.
And I shall spend my pension on brandy and summer gloves
And satin sandals, and say we’ve no money for butter.
I shall sit down on the pavement when I’m tired
And gobble up samples in shops and press alarm bells.............'
from the poem 'Warning' by Jenny Joseph, aged 29, who did not, herself, like purple
With a Nikon 70-200mm f/2.8 lens on Nikon D200, not hard to spot a photographer in the crowd. Especially when one has a bright red hat on. 😜

Autumn is my favorite season. There is always a lot to discover, and it is full of colors. The last walk in the forests I found some wonderful mushrooms - mostly fly agaric. I could not resist to take some pics...

In the remote village of Sary Mogol, near Pik Lenin and the Tajik border, in the south of Kyrgystan. Sary Mogol is a village of around 2000 people, situated on a wide plateau at 3,200m above sea level. The spectacular Alay range, 5,544m, rises like a wall of snow in front of it.

Red was everywhere today, in all kinds of fashion, from hats, tops, shorts, dresses and flags, even umbrellas and blankets. It was a sea of red, all of this to celebrate Canada Day, July 1st and especially the 150th Birthday of Confederation. It was also wall to wall of very proud Canadians from every background, including First Nations Peoples and new Immigrants, some of whom became Canadian Citizens in a special ceremony today. All joined in to celebrate this years special Day. Happy Canada Day to all Canadians everywhere and have a wonderful long summer weekend; let the celebrations continue!
