Juvenile Red-tailed Hawk.

The afternoon wasn't so much "cloudy" as "very rainy with some drizzle breaks." A very back-lit immature red-tail hawk takes off. It was so quick that the next photo only showed the back 2/3 of the bird.

The quite whitish head suggests Krider's. This individual photographed about 1 mile from the Buffalo Farm near the airport, an area which has had a Krider's pair for several years.

Came across this hawk (i think) having breakfast about 15' up in the tree.

Red tailed hawk at John Heinz National Wildlife Refuge.

This hawk posed obligingly for a little while and I blew the shots, then it flew away in disgust.

A red-tailed hawk watching you from on high. Kind of creepy, especially the larger photo sizes.

This guy was doing a bit of bird watching in my backyard with me.
