Red-tailed Hawk at North River Sanctuary and Swans on Summer Street in Marshfield, Ma. - Sept 7, 2022
I have been so fortunate to have been in the right place at the right time to have seen some wonderful glimpses of wildlife.
I was taking out the trash when I heard then spotted this Red Tail perched on the side of the Tree of Damocles, hunting something below in the ravine. By the time I grabbed the camera I got only this one blurry shot before he dove after dinner.
This Red-Tailed Hawk, called Sibley, was found wounded with a swollen eye in downtown Toronto after being attacked by a swarm of peregrine falcons. As a result of the attack, she was left blind in the right eye and WILD Ontario is now looking after her since she cannot survive in the wild. Red-Tailed Hawks are common throughout southern Ontario and can often be seen sitting on farm fences and telephone poles searching for small mammals on which they feed.
Falconry bird, 2 years old. Didn't have time to chat with the falconer though and only took these two shots.
