The past 2 days I have been organising by back catalog of photos, So far I have deleted 6000 photots, that was either duplicate, blurry or unintresting, I advise anyone dont be like me always keep on top of your workflow, On the plus side I did come across some unprocessed gems that I forgot about like this one.
There are very few opportunities around Ottawa to photograph the handsome Red-Headed Woodpecker as this area is on the upper fringe of it's normal distribution.
I had hoped to get an opportunity to photograph one during my trip to southern Ontario. While many people I met there seemed to have some special encounters with this bird most of the time that I saw one it was high in the trees and obscured with many branches.
On the morning of May 13, 2017, near 'The Tip' in Point Pelee National Park, I spotted one Red-Headed Woodpecker who kept returning to the top of one specific tree to feed on the seeds there. I also saw up to 7 Red-Bellied Woodpeckers at a time feeding in the same tree. Despite the height and the many branches between me and the bird I was able to find a small opening through which I could create a few images.
Image cropped as the bird was quite small in the frame due to distance.
I really should get a book with the names of the differents flowes in my area because I don't know what this one is either. Hopefully, someone will tell me. I took its picture because it looked kinda cool. Like It's punching the sky as it's developing.
The other one looks like it's making a face...lol..

The far off drifting clouds and off red hills against snow-covered mountains drew my attention several times.
It was delightful being out of the house and so nice to see sunshine after several rainy days.
Selective coloring used to bring out red of far-off hills.
I wanted a classic pose of a squirrel peeping around a tree...didnt manage one, but this was quite close. Hope you enjoy.
The bad light made it very difficult to capture movement, so my images are mostly all standing still poses. The trick was trying to get one that didnt have a hazel nut stuffed in its mouth.
I had a lovely walk this afternoon through Lamb's Hollow, a valley where the Grindstone Creek runs past our back garden on its way to the lake. I believe that the valley is a Glacial Spillway left over from the last ice age about 10,000 years ago. It is marshy and marvellous- full of interesting plants and wildlife - and the creek!

Russula nobilis is widespread in North America and grows primarily with beech trees. It is commonly known as the Beech Sickener, as it is toxic.
The sickener is known for its cherry-red cap that grows up to 3.3 inches at maturity. The cap shape starts out convex in young specimens and then flattens out in mature ones. The red mushroom’s gills are white, becoming yellowish as the mushroom matures, and are attached to a sturdy, white, cylindrical stem.

You're probably wondering what's with the white walled tires – they were heavily used, dirty and dented old style tires. After ignoring them for a long time, I decided to try give them a new life. The process turned out better results than I anticipated and so far, I've managed to recover three complete sets. Not to mention, they are even.. credible.

I gave Reia a new mask, but i don't think it really matches the armor. I don't have the old mask anyway because I gave it to some dude at BrickFair so oh well lol. Also I wanted to try out a new background/light combo, as well as a new mist or steam effect.
I love the red flower with lovely depth of field in green.
thanks for every one for views, faves, and comments.

Well, winter has arrived. The ground is covered and the shovels are out.
We've been spoiled the past few years with a later start to the snow, so this year is feeling very early to have everything covered in white.
Hopefully spring comes early too.
Hope everyone has had a good day.
