Another shot of the Abernethy red squirrels. I'm back in Yorkshire now, just got to unpack and then begin catching up with commenting.
On my walk this morning, I came across three fox kits greeting the morning.
The three-color variations of the species red fox are red fox, cross fox and silver fox. The red fox is the color which most are familiar. Then silver fox is one that is black with silver guard hairs and cross fox which has some of both color variation. While only 1% of red fox are cross fox in the lower 48 here in Alaska 30% are cross fox.
This is the red fox coloration.

Strait from the camera...
Yes it was red... I didn't play with it in the Photoshop (except for the signature and frame..)
All I did was use a slow shutter speed (1/25), and used a bit high saturation on the Canon...
And it got blood red:)

90 "comments" has been erased.
Because;
-Invites without comments
-Award codes without comments
-And because of these I couldn't read the REAL comments in all that clutter,
especially due to the Flickrs New Page.
And I thank to every one who did write something,
really it made me happy to see so much..
hope all is well in your world ... catch up soon!

Get Pushed: enveehaze gave me the following rolling challenge:
Hi Jonathan - I enjoyed looking thru your photos. You have some lovely images. I noticed you seem to focus on people. For your challenge, I would like you to focus on the inanimate instead. Please do a macro. Focus on the ordinary details of an object that make it extraordinary. I hope this is a fun and inspiring challenge for you! I look forward to seeing the result.
I've had similar challenges a few times now, some version of - take an abstract, closeup, no people shot - and it always gives me trouble. That's a good thing of course; it pushes me out of my comfort zone. So here is my attempt - I cheated a little but I also wouldn't have taken it this way without the push. So, as always, a learning experience.
For anybody interested, the challenge came from a Flickr group called Get Pushed, which you can find here: www.flickr.com/groups/getpushed/

Tramea onusta -- male
The other red dragons in our yard are much smaller and seldom fly high. This is the 1st adult male of the species I've ever been able to look down on.

Elections belong to the people. It's their decision. If they decide to turn their back on the fire and burn their behinds, then they will just have to sit on their blisters.

The basket of deporables have spoken and America is seeing red. Shock and horror is now a fact. The over the top reaction from the media and the left is alarming. It's going to be an interesting ride.
