The grounds of the park were originally part of an estate owned by Ernest Royden which comprised the park, Hill Bark house and Thurstaston Common. Upon his death the estate passed to Hoylake council and was opened to the public for recreation. The park features a visitor centre, walled garden, miniature railway, woodland walks and a lake. A surprising find !!!!

Remember the popular 1980 video game Pac-Man? As I approached the rim of this scenic overlook, the small pine tree immediately reminded me of the iconic Pac-Man. I had to stop and take a photo before I even got closer to the edge to get the real ‘money-shot’ looking down into the canyon. Photographed at Flaming Gorge National Recreation Area in Utah.

Indian Springs is one of the oldest state parks in the United States and a popular spot for outdoor recreation. For centuries, Creek Indians collected the spring water for its healing qualities, and during the 1800s, the area was a bustling resort town.

First time on the Garda Lake after several months: breaking the law for some recreation time.

Roith is a small village in the district of Regensburg (Bavaria). In the south-east of the village is a quarry pond named Roither See. Since several years, it is used as a recreation area. This rainy afternoon, I had the lake to myself.

It was a very pleasant late afternoon on a Southern California beach but surfing was lame.

Die Hasper Talsperre befindet sich im Dreieck zwischen Hagen, Breckerfeld und Ennepetal versteckt in einem beschaulichen Tal. Seit 1904 staut sie den Hasperbach zu einem circa 19 Hektar großen Stausee auf.

The Hasper Dam is located in a tranquil valley in the triangle between Hagen, Breckerfeld, and Ennepetal. Since 1904, it has dammed the Hasperbach stream, creating a reservoir of approximately 19 hectares.

Tiger Leaping Gorge, located in Yulong Naxi Autonomous Longpan Township in the China. 16 km long canyon, the south bank of the Yulong Snow Mountain peak 5,596 meters above sea level. the north shore of Zhongdian, snow-capped mountains 5,396 meters above sea level, the middle river width 30 to 60 meters.

Another one of the recreational buildings in Joondalup. This was one a sunday morning before opening. This facility actually gets a reasonable clientelle.

Todays theme is recreation and for two ways of doing recreation is to talk a walk in the forest with my camera and to go home and edit the photos. This was taken today on a walk in the beautiful weather.
