Can you see me?
I can barely see myself
Are we only
Empty frames up on the shelf?
(Ooh, ooh-ooh, ooh-ooh)
It's like we're dreaming wide awake
(Ooh, ooh-ooh, ooh-ooh)
Everything bends until it breaks
Can we recover?
Can we get over this?
Are we too deep in the night
To see the day?
Can we recover?
Can we get over this?
Are we too frozen inside
To feel the flame?
Empty vapor
Where there used to be a view
Clouded layers
Where the sky was crystal blue
Is there a light at the end?
A place where we start again?
Where there's a hunger within
These wounded hearts can mend
Taken at PACT Animal Sanctuary's large upper lake. here the waterfowl are free to fly off once they are able, or stay around hopefully enjoying it as much as I did <3

Taking a rest and take your time does not mean that you are beaten or not in the mood. It means that you recover and do what is right for you.
I first spotted his hen sometime early to mid June along with her nine ducklings. Returning the next day to discover there were only seven ducklings left. The following day, three ducklings were noted and by the evening only one duckling remained by her side. Sadly the only duckling did not survived. She looked very distressed and exhausted then.
A few days ago, I saw her resting with the company of another heavily pregnant Pekin hen. Hope this one has better luck.
The feather on her right wing was like that ever since I saw her. Also, this hen appears to be crossed breed of Muscovy and Pekin duck (not to be confused with Peking duck), not sure.

Obviously it had fallen out of the nest or something went wrong during his first attempt to fly!
Although she fully recovered, she was not able to fly anymore and after two months I got informed that she -unfortunately- passed away!!

naked bulb made it out of the hospital intact! and altho technically he is "recovered," his ego is still bigger than he is. expect more excitement in future.
A shot from last year that I thought had been lost forever when the memory card got corrupted. This is the view from King's How in Borrowdale on an afternoon of spectacular light.
Beethoven is recovering. He has an inflammation of the colon. Hopefully things will improve soon with my sweetheart.

I mentioned a few weeks ago that one of my hard drive crashed. Well...this is one of the images I was able to recover. Sure...I am $2,500 poorer today...and I would have to put off upgrading my tripod and acquiring a new lens. But I am glad I am able to recover most of my images.

After quite a bump into the window and landing in a puddle of water, I decided to dry it and hold it for a while till it was ready to fly away again, which it did :))
A golden May morning in northern Spain fizzes with field breeze and crows with colour while life creeps past like a dormouse, not shaking the grass.

Not enough light (and not enought time) today for good photos but I took this quick snapshot of Tofu for an update after his dental surgery yesterday. He is okay but still recovering. Although only two teeth were removed the whiole procedure turned out to be more complicated and took longer than the vet had expected. I spare you the details. When Tofu returned home yesterday afternoon, he curled up in Fynn's old cat bed which (after all these years) is still the place where he goes when he is in need of comfort. He feels better now, eats well and even wanted to go out into the garden but I decided to keep him indoors today. The problem is that he would eat grass and I don't think that that would be a good idea right now.
Tofu is recovering from the visit of his cousins. He has been good with them (as always) but these visits are still slightly exhausting for him, especially as the cousins are very active during the night and Tofu usually isn't. :)

Hey hooman? Hooman? Helloooo?
Ye-eah? Wha... What is it?
Come ON! Throw my toy!
Hmm, what did you say Barney?
Throw the toy! Throw it now! Come on hooman...
Just wait, I'm just, I'm just...
Just what? Gah, you're soo slow!
I'm just taking a photo. One moment, one moment...
Grrr...
A conversation we've had many, many times, Barney's such a good dog, tolerating his stoopid hooman taking a ridiculous number of photos when it should be playtime! This look he's giving me is so familiar - a serious "throw me the toy" stare, whilst standing frozen, like a furry statue, one paw raised in anxious anticipation of the moment I finally, finally remember to actually throw the toy... He's stayed like this almost completely without movement for up to 20 minutes before now! I only made him wait a couple of minutes today though, so it wasn't too torturous :) Being a BC, Barn often likes these "games" of patience and anticipation - although he lets me know when he's not in the mood - shouts and bounces at me until I give up taking photos!
Barney and I were away in Snowdonia over the weekend, sort of as a celebration for my 24th birthday on Sunday 6th - we went for a couple of staggeringly beautiful but looong mountain adventures together which I'm still recovering from. However, despite my legs objecting to another walk, we actually got some nice sunny weather today, so I went for a stagger up the Malvern Hills, to take photos :) This was taken at Earnslaw Quarry (now a lake), where Barney likes to have a swim. The quarry/lake is quite flooded atm, (there's normally a path where Barn's standing) but the sunlit hill reflecting golden in the water made for a lovely photo opportunity :)
