Reconnect Rochester hosted a screening of Be Prepared To Stop, a documentary film about the state of America's highway infrastructure. Panel discussion afterwards was moderated by Elissa Orlando, Senior VP for Television & News at WXXI Public Broadcasting. Panelists included Enid Cardinal, Senior Sustainability Advisor at Rochester Institute of Technology, Jim Hofmann, Principal & Office Leader at Stantec Consulting, Richard Perrin, Director of Planning (eastern U.S.) at T.Y. Lin International and James Stack, Executive Director of the Genesee Transportation Council.
I'm not sure I really have anything to say here. Amazing realism. And a successful capturing of the atmosphere of bright sunny days even better than a photo!
Reconnect Rochester teamed up with Rochester Improvement Society to kick off the new year. We enjoyed good food and drink, while exchanging ideas to help move our city forward. Like industrial areas, there are large urban properties that will have to become more dense and productive in the coming decades. This project illustrates how that can be done, and how greater urban connectivity can be achieved through careful understanding of these complicated sites.
During a journey to the African continent, Marcel Pinas saw – sometimes unexpected – similarities with home. There, in Cameroon, he understood more about his own culture. Pinas started reconnecting.
Façades of houses as they were made in the past, provided with symbols and patterns according to tradition. Marcel Pinas uses symbols and patterns as a way to convey a message; to communicate. His message for society: ‘kibri a kulturu’; ‘preserve the culture’.
