The military medal is the third highest bravery award, this one was won by my Great Uncle, William Hewit in Cambrai France on the 26th of September 1918. He was a driver in the Royal Field Artillary, ( the guns were horse drawn then) The notes on his recomendation are as follows. "On the night of sept 26th/18 at Cambrai being the leading driver in the team, showing great skill and courage when under very hevy shell fire and got through safely. My dad also mentioned he may have also killed a sniper but I coud find nothing in the records about that.

No words, My tears won't make any room for more,

And it don't hurt, like anything I've ever felt before, this is

No broken heart,

No familiar scars,

This territory goes uncharted...

Just me, in a room sunk down in a house in a town, and I

Don't breathe, no I never meant to let it get away from me

Now, too much to hold, everybody wants has to get their hands on gold,

And I want uncharted.

Stuck under the ceiling I made, I can't help but feeling...

I'm going down,

Follow if you want, I won't just hang around,

Like you'll show me where to go,

I'm already out, foolproof idea, so don't ask me how

To get started, it's all uncharted...

{La la la-a-a-a.}

{Oh-h-h.}

Each day, countin' up the minutes, till I get alone, 'cause I can't stay

In the middle of it all, it's nobody's fault, but I'm

So lonely, Never knew how much I didn't know,

Oh, everything is uncharted.

I know I'm getting nowhere, when I only sit and stare like...

I'm going down,

Follow if you want, I won't just hang around,

Like you'll show me where to go,

I'm already out, of foolproof idea, so don't ask me how

To get started, it's all uncharted.

Jump start my kaleidoscope heart,

Love to watch the colors fade,

They may not make sense,

But they sure as hell made me.

I won't go as a passenger, no

Waiting for the road to be laid

Though I may be going down,

I'm taking flame over burning out

Compare, where you are to where you want to be, and you'll get nowhere

I'm going down,

Follow if you want, I won't just hang around,

Like you'll show me where to go,

I'm already out, foolproof idea, so don't ask me how to get started.

{Oh-h}

I'm going down,

Follow if you want, I won't just hang around,

Like you'll show me where to go,

So flickr havn't letten me log on for a while because of that my age is under their recomendations. Now I don't know how they found out that; but I'm back now (:

And so that means I havn't been able to upload anything lately :(

This is just a photo of M'nut from this past Wednesday when we got locked out (Me and my memory... My keys were laying in a box in the hallway xD) -- and I kind of like it so I thought I'd upload it ^.^

I also got my "Wreck This Journal" [Also known as; "WTJ"] this week (: My mom bought one for me after I had been talking all about how cool it seemed xD Thank you mom! (:

I've allready started and I can't wait to post some photos of my mess xD

OK; my cat is meowing like some rooster now because it wants to go outside -- so I guess that is all for now.

If you made it this far please comment "Tilde's mom needs to help her save up for a macro lens" to show that I don't bore people out with one sentence xD

So, kind of a fun story;

These girls are all really good friends, and have all gotten married within the last year. SO, they hired me to take some fun shots with them all in their wedding dresses! We got a lot of stares, and a couple honks.

The sad/kind of funny part of this whole shoot was it abruptly ended when I fell in a lake. Yep, I had them all beautifully posed on some stairs, when I took one step too far as I was backing up- next thing I knew I was gasping for air as I jumped out of the waist high swampy water. I don't remember much, but apparently the first words out of my mouth were "save my camera!". I was fine, but super worried about my camera. It had been soaked right along with me. We rushed all the way back to my house, where one of the girls blow dried it out with the cool setting, and I rushed downstairs to change.

It's been about 24 hours, and I am too scared to turn it on. I am clinging to the hope that it isn't wrecked for good. I am even willing to sacrifice my lens being wrecked- just praying that the body is fine. My one regret? That I wasn't able to snap a picture of their shocked faces as I dissapeared from view. :P

And if you read that whole story.... I respect you. :P haha

**later**

Camera is dead.

So, until I save up more money, no more pictures on here! :(

P.S. New camera recomendations? My last was a Canon- but I am open to anything! And the pros and cons of that camera. I will still be on all the time, keeping updated on all your brilliant streams. :) <3

This is my first attempt at studio photography. So comments and recomendations for improvement are definitely requested.

A little about the model...

Anna was awesome. I honestly think I was more nervous than she was. She's a 20 year old music major that models as well. Luckily for me, she was a pro at it. All I had to do was point my camera and shoot. She did all of the rest of the work. I'm hoping that I get to work with her again as I learn this part of photography.

A little about the studio....

One of my best friends here in Xian, Fiona ( www.flickr.com/photos/30723636@N05/) set it up so that one of the local photograpy store owners would let us use his lighting and backgrounds for a small fee. The guy that owns the shop is awesome. He stuck around and tried to explain to us how he did everything. He even brought in a Laoshi for us to ask questions. I had a great time. It's definitely something I am going to do again soon.

My first attempt at HDR and rather pleased with it.

Taken whilst on a quick but very enjoyable trip to Stresa on Lake Maggiore.

A truly beautiful place. One recomendation though, go for the official harbours to get around the lake and avoid the "Captains" hanging around the car park. I have seen bigger rip offs before but these guys are still over charging on the official boats and for less of a service.

\this was a compostioin from nine shots, overkill I guess but as my first attempt at HDR I didn't want to miss the range. Processed in Photomatix with slight touching up in CS4. I haven't got light room yet.

The next time I try this with sky or water I will attempt to build a delay into the shots to add some more movement into the sky and water.

I saw another Anime series, this one called Chobits.

Its a total fun and laugh, and of course have some really sentimental moments.

The story is based around Hideky, a farm boy who goes to the city to prepare at school for the University exam

This like in a near future where computer are built in form of human-like , and are called persocons (portable computers, are tiny people)

But Hideky barely has money for rent and food, so no point of even dream buying a persocon.

One day, he finds one persocon , on the garbage, that also happens to be ultra cute and pretty. so he decides to take it to see if it still works.

Turns out it does go on, but like all the software is missing, only things she can do is say "Chii" and mimic Hideky's actions.

With help from neighbor, and a kid that is like the guru of home-made persocons, he goes on to find whats is it about Chii, and found that probably is a Cobiits, some kind of persocon with self--awareness, almost like a real person.

While the investigation goes, Hideky has to manage school, work, friends, and to teach Chii, teacheing her to speak, do things, get a work, live among humans. And every one thing results in some funny and sometimes embarrasing situations.

But problem, during all that, Hideky falls in love with Chii.

Chii on her side, liek reading a weird book, that is like ultra sad, where she basically remembers the idea that she need to find her ideal person.

Yes at the end, they do find out all the truth behind Chii, a whole story.

The ending chapter, is an emotional rollercoaster, at one point I was totally in tears, but dont be sad, it does has a happy ending.

A total recomendation

In one chapter, Hideky, has to go shopping lingerie for Chii, and he has so much troubles, causing lots of embarrasing situations, it reminded me of past adventures of my own, when trying to buy.

HDR photograph of the stained glass window at St. Margaret's Church Herringfleet, Suffolk by Timothy Selvage.

I was lucky to discover this church and only stopped by on recomendation after visiting Haddiscoe Priory (pictures soon to follow).

After seeing the beautiful windows I found this website www.suffolkchurches.co.uk/herringfleet.htm which provides useful information about this church and the windows...

'Some of the glass is interesting because it is so unusual, but more unusual than any of the medieval and continental work is the scattering of panes by the Lowestoft artist Robert Allen. Allen owned a glass factory, and produced 'picture glass' at a time when almost nobody else in England was doing it, the end of the 18th and the start of the 19th century. Because of this, he work is entirely pre-ecclesiological - that is to say, it comes from a time before the Oxford Movement had led the 19th century Anglican revival which led to the restoration of churches and the installation of thousands of stained glass windows across the country, mostly of biblical and devotional subjects. The other major figure in this restoration was Samuel Yarrington, the Norwich glazier, who probably arranged and set it all, and may well have been the agent who sold the glass to Leathes in the first place'.

For those who are interested, join me at G+ or Facebook where I post more information and tech stuff about these photographs amoungst other things. They are also great social places to open up a dialogue more easily than here on Flickr. I hope to see you there :-D

I know Salthook in the book wasn't a pirate city but I wanted to " Piratize " it cause I got some new treads from the bull dozer set ( and I wasn't sure how to do the big wheels of "Turnbridge Wheels" ) . Fully motorized and drivable with several playable functions.

Thanks initially to a recomendation of the location from Rob and having seen Keith's very nice upload this morning I chose to pay a visit to this fine line side location. Having set off in sunny conditions the weather turned sour and I received a fair drenching.

This extraordinary Silver Ghost, started life in 1924, originally bodied by coachbuilders Windovers Ltd., in March 1924 as an 'enclosed drive limousine'. it was first owned by Bracewell Smith Esq. (later Sir Bracewell Smith MP), Conservative MP for Dulwich 1932-45 and Lord Mayor of London 1946. Whos address was quoted as The Shaftsbury Hotel WC2, and later Park Lane Hotel WC1 which was part of his property empire

Nothing is known of its ownership from then until 1959, but at some stage it was converted to a shooting brake with a platform on the roof, another folding down at the rear, with fittings for a third at the front, all for the mounting of ciné cameras. It is understood that the conversion was carried out for a film company, and may have been one of two such camera cars, used for outside broadcasts and horse racing, one is seen on film, filming the London to Brighton run in Genevieve. This one also appeared in the Alec Guiness film - The Man in the White Suit.

In 1959, George du Boulay bought the by then somewhat dilapidated Silver Ghost from Carr Brothers in Purley for the sum of £99. Naming the car Gawain from the Knight in Arthurian legend. George Boulay had six children so holidays had become logistically difficult. The Rolls Royce was seen as a solution to the problem and the Shooting Brake was converted into a 'caravanette': slightly raising the roof, installing storage lockers and a water tank on the roof platform, and replacing the seats with a long fold-down bench at the rear, with more storage lockers, a cooker and wash basin opposite. There was a double back to back seat of the owners design that folded flat for sleeping and at a pinch all members of the family could sleep inside over night. It was used extensively by the family throughout the early sixties with a kitchen tent attached to the rear making a sheltered corridor through which the family could scramble through to sit or dine on the folded rear platform. it was retained by the Boulay family until 2007when it was decided to donate Gawain to the Sir Henry Royce Memorial Foundation. in 2008 it was the subject of a £ 15,000 restoration by marque specialist Overton Vehicle Overhauls of Leigh-on-Sea, Essex. In 2015 it was sold at auction by Bonhams, on behalf of the Sir Henry Royce Memorial Foundation with an auction recomendation price of £ 70,000 to £ 90,000

Progressively modernised over its long production life the Silver Ghost (as the model became known after its 1907 demonstrator), gained electric lighting and starting in 1919, a starting carburretor and twin ignition in 1921, and four wheel brakes in 1924. With virtually everything made by Rolls Royce. The car offered silence, refinement and comfort, and in 1911 one was timed at 101.8mph at Brooklands, with a streamlined single seat body

“In this manner,therefore,pray:

Our Father in heaven,

Hallowed be Your name.

Your Kingdom come.

Your will be done

On earth as it is in heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread.

And forgive us our debts,

As we forgive our debtors.

And do not lead us into temptation,

But deliver us from the evil one.

For Yours is the Kingdom and the power and the glory forever.Amen.

We took a look at cheap clip-on fisheye lenses for smartphones and the creative, lo-fi photos you can capture with them. Click here to see the video: youtu.be/BI4pGRUQbDI

I followed BikoBikoBiko's recomendation and upped the exposure time and dropped the ISO... there was probably more available light when i took this though... i am quite pleased with it

Military medal won by my Great Uncle, Bill Hewit at Cambrai in France during WW1. He was a driver in the Royal Field Artillery, a driver then being in charge of a team of horses rather than a vehicle. It is a level 3 galantry award, a VC being ranked level 1. The notes sent with his recomendation for the medal read,

On the night of Sept 26th/18 at Cambrai being the leading Driver in the team, showing great skill and courage when under very heavy shell fire, and got through safely.

This extraordinary Silver Ghost, started life in 1924, originally bodied by coachbuilders Wendovers Ltd., in March 1924 as an 'enclosed drive limousine'. it was first owned by Bracewell Smith Esq.

"Space, The final way to make my men kill themselves.

Finally, I managed to find a replacement for that idiot 'Figet' and he's not a bad gamble. Advanced training, Specialised gear and multiple recomendations. He was hard to get over here but it will be worth it. He can get all those 'Shiners' into shape for me. "

Well guys, Im now in love with outside photography. It makes everything look so crisp. Anyway, The stickers were a pain to cut and shape and I think he turned out well as I was going for a simple look.

C+C is Appreciated as allways.

This is just a peek for the two 'gals' that will receive book recomendations together with a library card holder, a bookmark and a little surprise...

Generally I do not post people pictures in my stream, but this one I had to do it.

This is my friend Sheree, from Flickr.

I've had the pleasure of meeting her and her husband David this week, and we had a whole day to talk, laugh and enjoy the simple pleasures of life.

Here She's holding her two babies, with the Manhattan Skyline behind.

When she was a child she had this same vision, like deja vue, and I think that it was a great experience for her, the solid river, her books and the crazy City.

You can purchase her books at Amazon.com and I highly recomend you to read it, it's in the Max Tuta's book club recomendations.

Of course, mine is autographed and if you want to pay me 10 times more than what you'll pay at Amazon.com, we can probably arrange some sort of deal, but if you buy 10 or 20 and give to your friends as next year Xmas gift in February where in the northern hemisphere is driry and cold, it will be much appreciated, people can stay cozy inside of their homes, with the fireplace working it's magic, sipping a glass of Cabernet, or maybe better yet a Shiraz and life will be just wonderful, grandious...

Now, here is the problem, there is only 1043 left, so hurry up and order it now, because the third one will be a bit more expensive, she'll need to pay her agent, her publisher and some other people like the printing house, the guy that works the printing machine, the guy that bounds the book, and you got the idea....

Hurry up, would you, than we can read and talk about her books and we can open and have "The Sherree Zielke fa club.

Now, her husband David is very cool, knows a lot about music and He's a great intertainer, but off course, he is in the intertainament business, and among other things, he's a master magician.

As a magic trick, and to test how good he was, I've asked him.

Mr.....

If you are really a good magician, I'll give you lots of money if you can make my not so small belly desappear .....

And kindly David told me:

I'm not Hudine nor Jesus Christ.

Fair I tought.

"Jesus transformed water in wine.

And Max wants me to transform lard into French cheese......

Ya right..."

But Hudine, what does he have to do with it?

Then I realized...

The only way that he could make that happen was by trowing me down the ravine, and I'd go rolling until I'd Hit the water, and the sharks would eat me up until all of me was kaput...

Not a so good idea....

Then I've changed my mind.....
