Dabei solidarisieren sich die Teilnehmer in Sprechchören und in Redebeiträgen mit der syrisch-kurdischen Stadt Kobane in der nordsyrischen Provinz Rojava. Zudem sprechen sie sich gegen den sogenannten Islamischen Staat (IS) gleichermaßen, wie gegen den türkischen Präsidenten Recep Tayyip Erdogan und seine AKP aus.
Die Demonstration findet unter dem Eindruck einer Welle der Gewalt gegen Kurden und linke Gruppen in der Türkei, sowie den gleichzeitig stattfindenen Wahlen in der Türkei statt.

Rund 100 Menschen nehmen an einer Kundgebung in Berlin Kreuzberg zur Erinnerung an die 33 Opfer des Anschlags in Suruç vor zwei Jahren statt. Die Teilnehmer, hauptsächlich Kurden und Anhänger linker Gruppen, verlesen die Namen der Opfer und solidarisieren sich mit dem Kampf der Kurden in Rojava. Zudem wurde sowohl der versuchte Militärputsch in der Türkei, als auch die Herrschaft der AKP kritisiert. Ebenfalls das Schweigen der Bundesregierung zu den anhaltenden Angriffen auf Demokratie und Bürgerrechte in der Türkei.

Der Islam gehört nicht zu Deutschland, ebenso wenig wie seine zum Teil hasserfüllten Prediger, die den modernen und liberalen Europäer eher an das tiefste Mittelalter als an das aufgeklärte und noch junge 21. Jahrhundert denken lassen. Ganz abgesehen davon steht der Islam in seiner Auslegung und Lehre unserem Grundgesetz zur Gänze diametral feindlich gegenüber. So lange nicht in jedem Koran die Menschenrechtserklärung der Vereinten Nationen abgedruckt ist, ist der Islam für mich ein Feind unserer Verfassung.
