I wasn't feeling good. Had a bad feeling all day. Put in my head phones, grabbed my skateboard and camera, then bounced. Let my music control me and my skateboard take me. I let my mind decide what was for me to shoot and let my heart to decide whether or not they had meaning to keep.
It’s that time of year where I do my annual end of the year recap. The 2024 year end post.
I’ll say that 2024 was kind of a mixed year for myself, but it was a successful year for Flickr.
2024 will be best remembered for when I upgraded to the Pro 16 Max in October, my dad got married to Katie (Yes I did get a stepmother), I also got myself new glasses in November, my mom got a new dog named Mattie in June, my return to sports photography when my dad got tickets to a Somserset Patriots game in a varsity box, and I was able to do it the easy way. In addition, I went to more restaurants. The first restaurant of 2024 I went to was Taylor Sam’s. I also outgrown my peanut allergy, and I did have a better Christmas after a Blue Christmas 2023. (My Christmas last year was blue because Katie had COVID-19 during Christmas, but not this year, this year's Christmas turned out to be better than last year)
The sad parts was where I lost my Nana (my dad’s mother) to dementia that progressed to Alzheimer’s disease in 2022 at the age of 80 on April 27 and Cuzzin’s Pizzeria (Herbertsville) in Brick, NJ was burnt down (Thank god I have other Cuzzin's Pizzerias), my Movie in the Park featuring Super Mario Bros. Movie on July 12 being cancelled to thunderstorms, my Drive In Movie in August to an unknown movie from 2023. (I’m assuming the cancelled drive in movie in August 2024 was Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny, because the Township of Brick never updated the Recreation Guide for Summer 2024, hopefully next year I get it in 2025), Microsoft shuttering the XBOX 360 Store on July 29, Disney Movie Club’s shutdown in July 2024, and Disney Movie Insiders’ shutdown on December 4, 2024.
With the result of the 2024 Drive In Movie’s cancellation to an unknown 2023 movie, Top Gun Maverick from August 2023 was the one and only Drive In Movie with the iPhone Pro 14 Max. 2024 was summed up as "The Year Without a Drive In Movie" and it also resulted to making this year's summer a chokefest failure, so my summer was pretty much blue. (It's kinda similar to how blue my Christmas 2023 was, but it wasn't COVID-19, it was due to uncooperative weather) :(
With the result of my Nana’s unfortunate passing, I had to make an agreement with my dad and Jim that I would continue to work on Flickr to preserve my Nana’s legacy, since I am the grandson/grandnephew of her. (In addition, the 2024 Movies in the Park season is dedicated to the memory of my Nana)
But aside from all of that. This year will be best remembered for the Florida Panthers winning the Stanley Cup. (In addition, Edmonton Oilers was in the SCF, but Florida won the cup in Game 7)
At least 2024 was a better leap year than 2020, because 2020 was one of the worst years of ever, and 2024 was another successful year for my Flickr.
With 2024 coming to a close, I would like to thank you for supporting me throughout this year.
Auld Lang syne everyone, have a happy new year, and I’ll see you in 2025, and I will continue to preserve my Nana’s legacy. (Also, Fingers crossed for Summer 2025 to be better)
