Not sure of the reasoning here for the arrest, but the police followed the man on his bike and then arbitrarily arrested him. I don't know what happened previously - but he did not seem like any kind of threat to require this much force.

At this point, I have not been able to find the original name of the sculpture, the year of creation and installation, and the author. I suspect that this is the work Gavriil Alexandrovich Schulz, the late 1940s, but so far I have only reasoning for this, nothing more. Nor any facts.

On a cloudy, muggy morning, three staff sergeants and one sergeant kicked off the four-day competition for RDECOM Noncommissioned Officer of the Year with the Army Physical Fitness Test.

 

Twenty Soldiers, led by Sgt. Maj. Kenneth Agueda, gathered at Lauderick Creek Training Site as the four participants began the competition with a land-navigation course through the woods of APG. They had three hours to plot grids and find select points using only a compass, pencil and map.

It's a rare thing for me to be really mad. The beyond-reasoning-with-me kind of rage that makes a person say things like, "I'm going to tear your fuc*#&$ head off" . In this case, it's actually a nasty, un-neutered cat in my neighborhood whose head I'm after.

 

It's been at least a year now that I've put up with this bully knocking around my cat. As my sweet kitty, Buddy hides in the far corner of the closet recovering from a day at the vet, I sit here contemplating how best to handle this situation. It's high time to talk to whom I suspect is the cat's owner and tell him what's been going on. It's a longer story with sordid details I don't need to drone on about here, but the rub for today is...NO MORE!!!!

 

Does anyone ever get to see me when I'm this person of flat-out, fuming anger? Rarely. I do my best to contain my frustrations and speak with eloquence when I'm upset. I hope my neighbor will be open to hearing what I have to say and will do something about his cat otherwise he could very well see a crazed woman (like the one we see in today's SP) standing on his front porch.

Mrs. Flores' 5th grade class tried their hand at Breakout. Mrs. Payleitner, Media Specialist at Frederick created three sets of locked boxes that contained clues, puzzles, and mysteries that had to be solved in order to unlock the main box that housed the treasure. Teams had to work together to decipher codes, find clues, and use logic to unlock each aspect of the game. Clues were based on the book Holes by Louis Sachar. Team Blue was the first to open all of the locks and claim their treasure - a Frederick Feather.

Thoughts tumble, feelings twirl, my mind is in turmoil as I walk at pace and talk out loud to myself like a mumbling buffoon. It's early morning, seven o'clock and fortunately there are few people around to deem me crazy, other than a handful of lycra clad joggers with asses like two small children fighting in a potato sack, and a guy being walked by his Rottweiller against the backdrop of the dramatic shoreline.

 

It's crazy to think this way, though think it I do, as I stride with purpose, reasoning and cogitating her ever word, spoken from behind those luscious red painted lips that are so adept at seducing me to the very knees of my heart. I should be stronger than this, I should resist and retreat, lick my wounds and count my blessings but I cannot get the thought of her out of my stupid mind. The way that she holds her cigarette until the burning embers await the inevitability of their free-fall towards the ground and oblivion, a moment that plays out like a scene from a classic black and white film in my mind as I dote on her every word, fawn with the best of them, fall victim to her womanly ways and prey to the addiction she creates within my soul.

 

I come to a standstill beneath the rotting metal struts and ageing wooden rafters of the old nineteenth century pier, and if ever there were a metaphor for my worthless carcass, then I've surely stumbled upon it this morning by chance or circumstance. The reflection in the mill pond water shouts 'old man' and 'fool', as my grey hairs scream like florescent beacons in the early morning light. What the hell am I doing? She's no more than a child, less than half my age, why, I could be her father for God's sake! .

 

Common sense, a touch of dignity, a little rationalization wouldn't come a miss right now. Away from her I can be sensible, adult, think this mess through and compose myself. A man of my age, a wife and two children, a mortgage and two dogs, my life settled and ordered, happiness and love. But fuck, she's so beautiful! A word, a glance, a flutter of those eyelids and I am putty in her hands as she smiles at my weakness, laughs at my inadequacies and foibles, mocks my animal instinct. Hate me, for I deserve it, slap me, for I'm not worthy, in my heart of heart I know I'm wrong, but God damn it, I'm flesh and blood, I'm a red blooded man, there is a fire burning within that has so seldom been stoked these past years of monotonous fatherhood, tiresome marriage. It's a release, a shedding of my skin, a final rebellion, a testament to the lion within this cowering pussy cat.

 

The shoreline mocks me with tidal surges that kiss my shoes and have me running like a fool to dryer patches. The pier, like me, has seen better days, as my eyes are drawn to the corridor covered by a thin veil of see mist on the horizon where the metal and wood blends as one, and part of me wishes that an ancient and beautiful queen would rise from the water, gracefully floating on a cushion of air towards me as she imparts her words of wisdom on this foolish man's ears. Pull yourself together man,this is Southend on Sea at seven in the morning, not a scene from a David Cronenberg film! I have the desire to walk into the water, follow the light, walk that corridor and see where fate takes me. My life is a mess, my memories candy floss and my hormones sent back in a time machine to my youth in the mid seventies when love was free and responsibility a word not yet fully formed in my personal vocabulary. I walk the beach alone and afraid of myself, uncertain of my future, afraid of what I might become, what I might already have turned into. A monster, a pervert, a leach. Hated, vilified, loathed and despised, I have the power to destroy all and sundry, to crush the beauty of what is mine for life, to wreck and wreak havoc in equal amounts.

 

And yet I have no power at all. One look, one glance, the crossing of those legs, the suggestion of intimacy, the allure. I am undone, exposed, weak and pathetic. I am man.

My Friend: I am asking you the most important question of life. Your joy or your sorrow for all eternity

depends upon your answer. The question is: Are you saved? It is not a question of how good you are, nor if

you are a church member, but are you saved? Are you sure you will go to Heaven when you die?

God says in order to go to Heaven, you must be born again. In John 3:7, Jesus said to Nicodemus, “Ye must be

born again.”

In the Bible God gives us the plan of how to be born again which means to be saved. His plan is simple! You

can be saved today. How?

First, my friend, you must realize you are a sinner. “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God”

(Romans 3:23).

Because you are a sinner, you are condemned to death. “For the wages [payment] of sin is death” (Romans

6:23). This includes eternal separation from God in Hell.

“ . . . it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment” (Hebrews 9:27).

But God loved you so much He gave His only begotten Son, Jesus, to bear your sin and die in your place.

“ . . . He hath made Him [Jesus, Who knew no sin] to be sin for us . . . that we might be made the righteousness

of God in Him” (2 Corinthians 5:21).

Jesus had to shed His blood and die. “For the life of the flesh is in the blood” (Lev. 17:11). “ . . . without

shedding of blood is no remission [pardon]” (Hebrews 9:22).

“ . . . God commendeth His love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.”

(Romans 5:8).

Although we cannot understand how, God said my sins and your sins were laid upon Jesus and He died in our

place. He became our substitute. It is true. God cannot lie.

My friend, “God . . . commandeth all men everywhere to repent” (Acts 17:30). This repentance is a change of

mind that agrees with God that one is a sinner, and also agrees with what Jesus did for us on the Cross.

In Acts 16:30-31, the Philippian jailer asked Paul and Silas: “ . . . ‘Sirs, what must I do to be saved?’ And they

said, ‘Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved . . . .’ ”

Simply believe on Him as the one who bore your sin, died in your place, was buried, and whom God

resurrected. His resurrection powerfully assures that the believer can claim everlasting life when Jesus is

received as Savior.

“But as many as received Him, to them gave He power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe

on His name” (John 1:12).

“For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.” (Romans 10:13).

Whosoever includes you. Shall be saved means not maybe, nor can, but shall be saved.

 

Surely, you realize you are a sinner. Right now, wherever you are, repenting, lift your heart to God in prayer.

In Luke 18:13, the sinner prayed: “God be merciful to me a sinner.” Just pray: “Oh God, I know I am a sinner.

I believe Jesus was my substitute when He died on the Cross. I believe His shed blood, death, burial, and

resurrection were for me. I now receive Him as my Savior. I thank You for the forgiveness of my sins, the gift

of salvation and everlasting life, because of Your merciful grace. Amen.”

Just take God at His word and claim His salvation by faith. Believe, and you will be saved. No church, no

lodge, no good works can save you. Remember, God does the saving. All of it!

God’s simple plan of salvation is: You are a sinner. Therefore, unless you believe on Jesus Who died in your

place, you will spend eternity in Hell. If you believe on Him as your crucified, buried, and risen Savior, you

receive forgiveness for all of your sins and His gift of eternal salvation by faith.

You say, “Surely, it cannot be that simple.” Yes, that simple! It is scriptural. It is God’s plan. My friend, believe

on Jesus and receive Him as Savior today.

If His plan is not perfectly clear, read this tract over and over, without laying it down, until you understand

it. Your soul is worth more than all the world.

“For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world and lose his own soul?” (Mark 8:36).

Be sure you are saved. If you lose your soul, you miss Heaven and lose all. Please! Let God save you this very

moment.

God’s power will save you, keep you saved, and enable you to live a victorious Christian life. “There hath no

temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, Who will not suffer you to be tempted

above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it” (1

Corinthians 10:13).

Do not trust your feelings. They change. Stand on God’s promises. They never change. After you are saved,

there are three things to practice daily for spiritual growth:

Pray -- you talk to God.

Read your Bible -- God talks to you.

Witness -- you talk for God.

You should be baptized in obedience to the Lord Jesus Christ as a public testimony of your salvation, and

then unite with a Bible-believing church without delay. “Be not thou therefore ashamed of the testimony of

our Lord . . . .” (2 Timothy 1:8)

“Whosoever therefore shall confess [testify of] Me before men, him will I confess also before My Father which

is in heaven” (Matthew 10:32).

Was single crewed thought these were crew of 3? Anyone know reasoning? Are two taken off to ride the alp if prl is required as well? Is it still on the run to act as check to see if genuine call?

I believe this is Aarmühlerstrasse in Interlaken, viewed from a room in the now demolished Hotel Bahnhof.

 

If so, the two visible buildings are also demolished and it's hard to confirm if my reasoning is correct or not.

A five-dimensional space is a space with five dimensions. If interpreted physically, that is one more than the usual three spatial dimensions and the fourth dimension of time used in relativistic physics.[1] It is an abstraction which occurs frequently in mathematics, where it is a legitimate construct. In physics and mathematics, a sequence of N numbers can be understood to represent a location in an N-dimensional space. Whether or not the universe is five-dimensional is a topic of debate.

Physics[edit]

Much of the early work on five-dimensional space was in an attempt to develop a theory that unifies the four fundamental interactions in nature: strong and weak nuclear forces, gravity and electromagnetism. German mathematician Theodor Kaluza and Swedish physicist Oskar Klein independently developed the Kaluza–Klein theory in 1921, which used the fifth dimension to unify gravity with electromagnetic force. Although their approaches were later found to be at least partially inaccurate, the concept provided a basis for further research over the past century.[1]

 

To explain why this dimension would not be directly observable, Klein suggested that the fifth dimension would be rolled up into a tiny, compact loop on the order of 10-33 centimeters.[1] Under his reasoning, he envisioned light as a disturbance caused by rippling in the higher dimension just beyond human perception, similar to how fish in a pond can only see shadows of ripples across the surface of the water caused by raindrops.[2] While not detectable, it would indirectly imply a connection between seemingly unrelated forces. The Kaluza–Klein theory experienced a revival in the 1970s due to the emergence of superstring theory and supergravity: the concept that reality is composed of vibrating strands of energy, a postulate only mathematically viable in ten dimensions or more. Superstring theory then evolved into a more generalized approach known as M-theory. M-theory suggested a potentially observable extra dimension in addition to the ten essential dimensions which would allow for the existence of superstrings. The other 10 dimensions are compacted, or "rolled up", to a size below the subatomic level.[1][2] The Kaluza–Klein theory today is seen as essentially a gauge theory, with the gauge being the circle group.[citation needed]

 

The fifth dimension is difficult to directly observe, though the Large Hadron Collider provides an opportunity to record indirect evidence of its existence.[1] Physicists theorize that collisions of subatomic particles in turn produce new particles as a result of the collision, including a graviton that escapes from the fourth dimension, or brane, leaking off into a five-dimensional bulk.[3] M-theory would explain the weakness of gravity relative to the other fundamental forces of nature, as can be seen, for example, when using a magnet to lift a pin off a table — the magnet is able to overcome the gravitational pull of the entire earth with ease.[1]

 

Mathematical approaches were developed in the early 20th century that viewed the fifth dimension as a theoretical construct. These theories make reference to Hilbert space, a concept that postulates an infinite number of mathematical dimensions to allow for a limitless number of quantum states. Einstein, Bergmann and Bargmann later tried to extend the four-dimensional spacetime of general relativity into an extra physical dimension to incorporate electromagnetism, though they were unsuccessful.[1] In their 1938 paper, Einstein and Bergmann were among the first to introduce the modern viewpoint that a four-dimensional theory, which coincides with Einstein-Maxwell theory at long distances, is derived from a five-dimensional theory with complete symmetry in all five dimensions. They suggested that electromagnetism resulted from a gravitational field that is “polarized” in the fifth dimension.[4]

 

The main novelty of Einstein and Bergmann was to seriously consider the fifth dimension as a physical entity, rather than an excuse to combine the metric tensor and electromagnetic potential. But they then reneged, modifying the theory to break its five-dimensional symmetry. Their reasoning, as suggested by Edward Witten, was that the more symmetric version of the theory predicted the existence of a new long range field, one that was both massless and scalar, which would have required a fundamental modification to Einstein's theory of general relativity.[5] Minkowski space and Maxwell's equations in vacuum can be embedded in a five-dimensional Riemann curvature tensor.[citation needed]

 

In 1993, the physicist Gerard 't Hooft put forward the holographic principle, which explains that the information about an extra dimension is visible as a curvature in a spacetime with one fewer dimension. For example, holograms are three-dimensional pictures placed on a two-dimensional surface, which gives the image a curvature when the observer moves. Similarly, in general relativity, the fourth dimension is manifested in observable three dimensions as the curvature path of a moving infinitesimal (test) particle. 'T Hooft has speculated that the fifth dimension is really the spacetime fabric.[citation needed]

 

Five-dimensional geometry[edit]

According to Klein’s definition, "a geometry is the study of the invariant properties of a spacetime, under transformations within itself." Therefore, the geometry of the 5th dimension studies the invariant properties of such space-time, as we move within it, expressed in formal equations.[6]

In five or more dimensions, only three regular polytopes exist. In five dimensions, they are:

 

The 5-simplex of the simplex family, {3,3,3,3}, with 6 vertices, 15 edges, 20 faces (each an equilateral triangle), 15 cells (each a regular tetrahedron), and 6 hypercells (each a 5-cell).

The 5-cube of the hypercube family, {4,3,3,3}, with 32 vertices, 80 edges, 80 faces (each a square), 40 cells (each a cube), and 10 hypercells (each a tesseract).

The 5-orthoplex of the cross polytope family, {3,3,3,4}, with 10 vertices, 40 edges, 80 faces (each a triangle), 80 cells (each a tetrahedron), and 32 hypercells (each a 5-cell).

An important uniform 5-polytope is the 5-demicube, h{4,3,3,3} has half the vertices of the 5-cube (16), bounded by alternating 5-cell and 16-cell hypercells. New tank, 20 gallons, with 2 fantails, 5 danios. If you ask people about mixing goldfish and tropical fish, you'll get a mixed response. Part of my reasoning had to do with the temperament (all fish keep to themselves), but mostly, the goldfish were in a room that had high temps, and they never seemed any worse off (very active, very happy). Same with the zebrafish. I do not use a heater and the tank is a constant 72 degrees, a bit cool for the danios, a bit warm for the goldfish, but I think it's a happy medium. I pay close attention to ammonia levels.

 

Incidentally, those are all real plants and there are bulbs planted in the faux-beachsand part to the left side. That's not sand and it's not flourite, just regular ol' white gravel.

 

All of these guys were in a 12 gallon, which was too small, and 20 is pushing it. In theory, fantails should have 10 gallons per fish, but everyone keeps to themselves.

The question has been asked so many times, it needs to be answered. Are all Muslims terrorists? Let’s reason this out together.

 

-Are there nominal Americans? The answer is yes.

-Are there nominal Christians? The answer is yes.

-Are there nominal Muslims? The answer is yes.

-Are there any nominal Christian Muslims or Muslim Christians? The answer is no there are not.

 

That sounds like circular reasoning, but the real purpose of saying those things is understanding that, while there may be nominal Christians and nominal Muslims, there is no such thing as nominal Christianity, nor is there a nominal Islam.

 

Christianity and Islam are belief systems. Christianity follows Christ. Islam follows Mohammed. Christianity follows the one true and living God. No belief system can be nominal. It is what it is.

Only followers can be nominal, in terms of being what they are in name only. JPT wants you to understand that we do not condemn any people with a broad brush. But we do stand as watchmen on the wall, first of all in protection of the nation of Israel, but also to expose the errors and deceptions of false teaching – especially anti-Christian and anti-Israel teachings.

 

The issue is not really whether or not there are nominal Muslims. It is whether or not there is nominal Islam. Because the answer is no, we must all understand that Muslims in high places are not nominal. They are Islamic leaders because they embrace Islam and promote its agenda of one world at peace through Islamic rule. They believe in conquering by jihad, whether it is a silent jihad through deception and assimilation or it is the open jihad of rabble-rousing and saber-rattling – or outright terror.

 

When we speak of the danger of Islam, this is what we are talking about. We are talking about the blood-thirsty lust of Islamic leaders that has Israel and the United States in its crosshairs. We are talking about their goal of an Islamic caliphate with Jerusalem as its capital. We are talking about their commitment to lie and deceive if it will contribute to their cause. We are talking about their plans to eliminate everyone who will not swear allegiance to Allah. We are talking about the phenomenon of the spread of Islam that is eating away at the world like termites in a toothpick factory.

 

Islam is dangerous. It is oppressive. It is no friend to freedom, no friend to Christianity, no friend to America, and, most certainly, no friend to Israel. Islam is a gathering storm around the nation of Israel and within the nation of the United States of America. We need to be using the power that we have to talk to the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Israel. We need to plead for His compassion for His chosen people. We need to pray for His protection of them (Psalm 122:6) and for His peace to be upon them. He will hear our cry, and He will answer our prayers.

Blue Beanie Day started in 2007. I don't know the reasoning behind the

choice of the blue beanie as a symbol, but I imagine that

 

1) the beanie is because beanie are associated with geeks, and geeks

are the ones who most need to know about and support web

accessibility; and

 

2) blue because blue beanies are really easy to find, and probably

geekier than most of the other colors. Geek camouflage, if you will.

And besides, rainbow beanies are the province of the autism spectrum

disorder support community.

 

Now, I could very easily be wrong (since I was making up all of the

reasoning) so hopefully Doug or Jeffrey or someone will come by and

I was thinking of the year my son was first diagnosed with Asperger's

and all his sensory issues. We (the school and me) got him his first

computer and taught him the accessibility commands so he could makes

things easy for HIM to read! What a world of difference it made. We

did still have the occasional website where the accessibility commands

he used couldn't change things the way he needed, which really

irritated him, but luckily they were few.

Abstract: This talk discusses advanced computationally assisted reasoning about large interaction-dominated systems. Current questions in science, from the biochemical foundations of life to the scale of the world economy, involve details of huge numbers and levels of intricate interactions. Subtle indirect causal connections and vastly extended definitions of system boundaries dominate the immediate future of scientific research. Beyond sheer numbers of details and interactions, the systems are variously layered and structured in ways perhaps best described as networks. Interactions include, and often co-create, these morphological and dynamical features, which can interact in their own right. Such “massively interacting” systems are characterized by, among other things, large amounts of data and branching behaviors. Although the amount of associated data is large, the systems do not even begin to explore their entire phase spaces. Their study is characterized by advanced computational methods. Major methodological revisions seem to be indicated.

 

Heretofore unavailable and rapidly growing basic source data and increasingly powerful computing resources drive complex system science toward unprecedented detail and scale. There is no obvious reason for this direction in science to change. The cost of acquiring data has historically dominated scientific costs and shaped the research environment in terms of approaches and even questions. In the several years, as the costs of social data, biological data and physical data have plummeted on a per-unit basis and as the volume of data is growing exponentially, the cost drivers for scientific research have clearly shifted from data generation to storage and analytical computation-based methods. The research environment is rapidly being reshaped by this change and, in particular, the social and bio–sciences are revolutionized by it. Moreover, the study of socially– and biologically–coupled systems (e.g., societal infrastructures and infectious disease public health policy analysis) is in flux as computation-based methods begin to greatly expand the scope of traditional problems in revolutionary ways.

 

How does this situation serve to guide the development of “information portal technology” for complex system science and for decision support? An example of an approach to detailed computational analysis of social and behavioral interaction with physical and infrastructure effects in the immediate aftermath of a devastating disaster will be described in this context.

Reasoning that since my part of central Phoenix did not get any rain and yet there was such a storm last night, I got up at 4:30 am and waited to see if the still-overcast sky would show a beautiful sunrise. Yippee, for 5:15 am was most glorious! This splendid light lasted but minutes.

 

I've got about 6 images I am happy with, what with being handheld and all. I ran down the street in my neighborhood with my nightshirt and camera, looking for a view with the least intrusive of the urban structures. There are a few more coming along in my stream, and these images are in my set called "What's Up in Arizona".

Reasoning: Triangle on pointing finger 'cos triangles are pointy and action focused. Circle on Ring Finger because that's about romance and commitment. Box on middle finger, cause middle is the safe bet, Squiggle on the little finger because everyone else thinks they can do without us, but lose it and you'll find out why we're important!!! Rectangle on the thumb because the opposable thumb (ie. flexible) is what makes the hand work.
