The curiosity and the enjoyment this child showed as he wondered and realized what we were hanging from the half-open door of the hangar was awesome to watch. He stood there staring at it long enough for me to run in and grab the camera and snap a shot with only a brief glance at the settings. A little too brief, but I'm happier with the picture the more I look at it.
For the realization and reconstruction of The Sound of Coop. Dairy ‘De Venen’ we were invited 1 December in the morning to make sound recordings at Rouveen Kaasspecialiteiten. These images were taken while making the recordings. The recordings were made by professional sound technician Michiel de Boer.

Realization of this military base at Frederiksoord is currently being developed in close collaboration with Foundation KIK (Kunst in Kolderveen), TAAK, The Society of Humanitarianism, Gemeente Westerveld, Province Drenthe and the Ministry of Defence. The Self-Realization Fellowship Lake Shrine lies a few blocks from the Pacific Ocean, on Sunset Boulevard in Pacific Palisades, California. It was founded and dedicated by Paramahansa Yogananda, on August 20, 1950.
I took this picture of myself because I want to always remember how happy I was today. It's difficult to put into words.
The realization of where I am and that I can be here as long as I want: someday I will have my children here, and starting next year I'm going to teach other people's children here.
I was raised to believe that happiness always came with a price, that each happiness is accompanied by an equal amount of strife. That you're supposed to work hard for happiness, it's something to be earned. I grew up with four seasons - every summer was paid for by an equally long winter.
Today I realized - it can be like this always. 70 degrees in January. I can breathe easy, literally. California has been so generous to me, and has taught me to be generous with myself. I don't have to struggle anymore. That doesn't have to define me, my perseverance. I can actually flourish. I have the luxury of deciding what I want, not if I can have it. And now I understand that it's not a luxury, but my inherent right.
I wear like jewelry the moments that brought me here: a warm September night, when someone told me to forgive myself. Coming to really celebrate getting away with it, and to stop secretly envying those who can. Doing something I never thought I'd do. Melting hardened hearts, not even realizing what I was capable of. Having it all fall together, being brought to the idea of collective joy. Finally letting go and flying across the continent. For keeps.

The Self-Realization Fellowship Meditation Gardens are open to all that seek to come here to relax their mind, body, and spirit. Walking the grounds here is so tranquil, you can look out over the open waters of the mighty Pacific Ocean or you can find a spot nested in the gardens that gives you shade and floral fragrance as you rest your mind.
