Forget that this world can be cruel

Please forgive the coward in me

Now I know I was only a thief

Who tried to steal your love?

Forgive me that I was influenced by your beauty

But I couldn’t find much beauty inside you

I never thought there could be anything inside you

My love was lust in disguise

You were beautiful and it was your only fault

I remember that cattle is killed for its body

I believe that I influenced you

I tried to influence you

But you didn’t show a sign of love, you are pure

We were tight lipped, our love was silent

I felt I don’t want you

But I was wrong

I always needed someone

I miss your love

at least your presence

For influencing you

Who ‘am I to influence you?

I could not even think of not attaining you

I could at least seek your attention

I think you can’t be so cruel that you hate me.

I didn’t do anything to you except loving you

While crossing the northern roads of Vietnam we had to stop in a small village of barely ten houses to repair a puncher.

Set back from the road this lady worked methodically on her spinning wheel the whole time we were there. Calmly feeding the thread while peddling with her feet.

Then just as we where about to leave she stopped. For a moment she sat transfixed staring off over the hills.

As we set off her wheel was spinning again and she was calmly feeding the thread.
