When I came downstairs in the morning a few days ago my daughter said she had a surprise for me. She showed me these “flowers” that she picked for me sitting on the table. I appreciated her thoughtfulness and seeing beauty even in weeds....I thought they were beautiful weeds too.

What we are protesting is this newly proposed beta page layout -
which would soon take effect. I think I got enough from this current
flickr page. I don't mind the black background , it's ok with me but whenever
I download a page , it takes much longer which is a pain .The overall
appearance of a flickr page at the moment with all the pictures isn't
that nice, I have to put up with it. If you've seen or tried the Beta page
it's adding more agony into the injury . The comment section which
is layed out on the right hand side of the photo is too cramped up , has a
a small space for description and the comment section can only display
a limited few. This beta page is a stretch towards the breaking threshold
anyone can bear up with.
I just love the old way flickr
used to be for years. This may not be reflective of everyone's
preference . I am not against change ok, but if only flickr
could give us few options how we present our pages.
Those who wish to join in the protest should not upload any image on the
8th of December except an all in black dominated image , either of your creation
or you can copy the image floating around flickr also with more info and links from :
www.flickr.com/photos/anujnair/11166980463/
... and post it on your page .
Also you can sign in the petition advocated by Toby Tenma ,
hoping to get at least 10,000 signatures calling for the old
flickr page back or at the least if flickr can give us back
the options. This has to be delivered to the Flickr CEO Marissa
Mayer . If we share the same sentiments with the spirit
of solidarity and would like to call out flickr's attention you
can click : HERE

Still have the same drift ? You can get this viral quick . Please, please
please , spread the news
to as many people on flickr , that'll be great !
At least we tried :)
Thank you :)

I’ve admired a lot of Street Photography on Flickr for a while now and always wanted to give it a go. I recently took a trip to York so I thought I’d give it a go, I hung my camera around my neck and had at it with my remote control.
Admittedly, I realised I had to learn a lot from the process, my main problem is capturing people as there walking towards me, a lot of the shots I got was of people walking away from me which I should have been more aware of, but, it was a learning experience if nothing else.
Seems I got something right with this one at least; Explored > www.flickr.com/explore/interesting/2012/9/11/page29 <

Paris, France - July 2019: Painter of Montmartre drawing a portrait at The Place du Tertre, a few streets away from Montmartre's Basilica of the Sacred Heart of Paris, commonly known as Sacré-Cœur. Two children are playing with a smartphone on the foreground.
This caught my eye as I prepared supper a few nights ago—the birthday candles that had been washed and were left on the kitchen counter.

Next to the Salisbury Arms, one of the oldest Hotel and Public House in Hertford, stands this charming Dutch designed blue bike. I like the simplicity of the composition with the parking warden wandering down Fore Street looking for unwitting custom, there is an irony in this snap.
The final editing was in Adobe Photoshop Express which helped me accentuate the dull day with the blue of the bike matching the roof of the Corn Exchange further down Fore Street.
This image is straight from the camera. As you can see it looks like a black and white photograph. I included the top left corner to prove that there was colour.
so that's it, my cat Toshi got trapped in the infamous trick and the funniest part is: he got himself in there on his own xD ahahhahahahah <3

IMPOSSIBILE QUALUNQUE INTERSCAMBIO, NESSUNA VISIBILITA' !!!

In the spirit of how it all started...or the way it used to be...or something...
I remember when Flickr was all there was to share images online (at least as far as I knew). I may have started out thinking "art" but as I moved through the learning process of making photos, and as I found myself around community, I started sharing images of actual life. I guess it was like what people kind of do on Instagram now...maybe...sort of? Anyway, interspersed with pinholes, Holgas, weird double exposure instant photos, there would be photos of dinner, or a holiday with the family, or a vacation hotel room...or late at night in bed unable to sleep perhaps. In many ways it was all the same...the art and other stuff (because I'll be honest, I would often pick out the best images, or perhaps do some adjustments so it was on par quality wise...or so I thought). And while that's been standard part of my photo sharing m.o., there have been times when I've done it much less.
Anyway, it's 6 pm-ish and I'm already in my pjs. I spent the better part of the day playing catch up with all the leaves in my yards. I got it almost all done....just a patch out back I left until tomorrow because it was getting dark. The shower I just took was about as hot as I could stand and I'm relaxing here with a heating pad on my back. I have some art journal play/experiment I intend to do, maybe watch something to keep me company, and that will be my evening.
Tomorrow is another day, with more to do, and it's strange times but I'm doing okay.
Any minute now, my ship is coming in
I'll keep checking the horizon
I'll stand on the bow, feel the waves come crashing
Come crashing down, down, down, on me
And you say, be still my love
Open up your heart
Let the light shine in
But don't you understand
I already have a plan
I'm waiting for my real life to begin
When I awoke today, suddenly nothing happened
But in my dreams, I slew the dragon
And down this beaten path, and up this cobbled lane
I'm walking in my old footsteps, once again
And you say, just be here now
Forget about the past, your mask is wearing thin
Let me throw one more dice
I know that I can win
I'm waiting for my real life to begin
Any minute now, my ship is coming in
I'll keep checking the horizon
And I'll check my machine, there's sure to be that call
It's gonna happen soon, soon, soon
It's just that times are lean
And you say, be still my love
Open up your heart, let the light shine in
Don't you understand
I already have a plan
I'm waiting for my real life to begin
