A litle real Winter!
At least a bit of snow! Perhaps 5cm. And a sunny day. So I skipped office and went out. No special pictures, but hey, I was exited like a little boy.

El Milano Real tiene el privilegio de ser la más elegante de nuestras rapaces y una de las aves más caracterÃsticas de nuestra fauna. Su área de distribución cubre la mitad de Europa y sectores de Africa del Norte, pero no se encuentra en ninguna otra parte del mundo.
Buen velero y normalmente poco arisco, ofrece el espectáculo fascinante de su absoluta maestrÃa en el aire. Durante las paradas nupciales la pareja acompaña sus acrobacias veleras con dulces relinchos: «hiou-hiou-hiouou». El nido es un buen montón de ramas, guarnecido de tierra, lana, musgo y toda clase de trozos de papel e incluso de plásticos.
Con frecuencia el Milano Real forma parte de las partidas de carroñeros que recorren los campos a la espera de reses muertas; junto a los cadáveres se le ve con buitres, córvidos y su pariente el Milano Negro, con el que compite fuertemente por los lugares de nidificación, en determinados emplazamientos, ya que, en general, el Milano Negro es mucho más abundante y común en época de crÃa. Sólo en invierno, a causa de las muchas aves de su especie que llegan de otros puntos de Europa, puede verse al Milano Real por todas partes.
Identificación: Plumaje castaño rojizo con cabeza blancuzca listada; cuerpo grácil; alas estrechas, agudamente acotadas hacia atrás en vuelo; cola profundamente ahorquillada; hembra ligeramente más oscura.
Nidificación: Ambos sexos construyen nido de palos y tierra, en árbol, frecuentemente en nido antiguo de córvido; puesta, de marzo a mayo, usualmente 2 ó 3 huevos blancos con motas rojo acastañadas; incubación, de 28 a 30 dÃas sólo por la hembra; los pollos alimentados por ambos padres, dejan el nido después de unos 50 a 55 dÃas.
Alimentación: Pequeños mamÃferos, conejos, carroña, aves jóvenes, a veces lombrices y rana

More test shots with the Leica D-Lux 7 camera. Not to be confused for compositional masterpieces! But I hope these images provide a feel for the camera to anyone contemplating buying a D-Lux 7 or 8 camera.
This dog looked like a big doll. The owner said the dog was a Spanish something that I can’t quite remember. The braiding of the hair looks interesting, even cute… But I don’t know how much the dog enjoys it.

Cannolio!! A typical Sicilian Sweet. This is the main of gaining at least 5 kilos in Sicily. Food, food, food! It's a religion. In Colle dei Nebrodi we ate typical food of the hills. Lot's of veggies and potatoes: all produced locally.
