This man asked me to marry him

Leica x1

There was a parade today in Downtown Seattle. i initially went there to go buy a viewfinder for the x1 in the local camera store, Glazers. and then parked a bit south.

lots of people in there, and a few good shots.

what interested me wasn't the parade but the side stuff. people's reaction and actions to the parade.

it's interesting sometimes to observe a scene before grabbing your camera. you get that feeling that you are truly in front of a moment to catch. the guy here was serene, even "out of this world" if i might say. he caught my attention in a snap.

concerning the leica x1 viewfinder, i must say it's a great piece of equipment. made a hole in my wallet but it's Leica so no surprise. however, you get what you pay for. it's a tuff, classy and easy to use optical piece. i already love it.

We are reading through Marvel chronologically (Because that's fun!) and when we get to Spidey 29 in October 1965, what do we see? Stan Lee always tried to make everything about the comic fun, including his winks and nods to the readers on the splash page credits. And who is featured?

It's our Flickr friend Andrew P. Yanchus! He's coloring and, perhaps, clowning with the bullpen. We hope he's clowning because we're not sure what "clowing" would be. 😄

If you haven't discovered Andrew's stream, you'll be delighted to follow him as it is day after day of vibrant, four color, nostalgic goodness in toys, comics, magazines, greeting cards... you name it! 😊

As an aside, our copy of ASM 29 is in Marvel's digital format where they overly digitally process everything. We include page 12 in the collage above in its original separation glory.

I imagine pencillers and inkers aren't always happy with the loss of detail in the digital processing that a lot of the older comics are going through, but it seems to hit the colorists the worst.

Macro Mondays: Bottoms Up

This beautiful device allows me to read just about any card and connect it to my computer. My newest camera uses an SD card, so this does not get as much use as it used to get. Ironically, I took this picture with the old camera and needed to use it to the picture to my camera.

Bottoms up: this is the bottom of the card reader and it is upside down... I did not realized the double bottoms up until I was editing it.
