Late Wednesday afternoon, I went on a wander with the sole aim of getting lost in Venice, which is the best advice I can give anyone who visits: get yourself as far away from San Marco, the Strada Nova by the train station, and the Rialto Bridge and just wander. The light and delight will overtake you when you do, I promise.

«It was - it is - there comes a column» (Norwegian: Det var - det er - det kommer en søyle). One of three parts of a textile installation made by the artist Gitte Dæhlin (1956 - 2012) at the University Library in Tromsø, Norway. Four persons (one is hidden behind the column) represented by 4 pairs of legs coming out of the column. They represent 4 different cultural anchorings, each one reading their own paper. They are faceless, or the faces are hidden in the centre of the column, giving the perception that the reading encapsulates each and one of them in their own world.
