So I step out the front door and a half dozen baby rabbits are going nuts under the bushes, I was headed out but ran back in the house, grabbed my camera and this was the only poser in the bunch! I guess we have a rabbit home by our front door! So much for the plants!
So why were they going nuts and running all over the place? Just before seeing the babies, I chased one of the chickens, Nellie the escape artist, out from under the bushes that are by the house. I'm pretty sure she blew the rabbits cover and caused them to panic and go nuts. Maybe when I closed the door they reacted. I just hope the mom rounded them up and got them back to the nest.

From Wiki: The jacamars are a family, Galbulidae, of near passerine birds from tropical South and Central America, extending up to Mexico. The family contains five genera and 18 species. They are closely related to the puffbirds, another Neotropical family, and the two families are often separated into their own order, Galbuliformes, separate from the Piciformes. They are principally birds of low-altitude woodlands and forests, and particularly of forest edge and canopy.
Jacamars are insectivores. They spend most of the day perched (inactive) waiting for flying-by insects or butterflies to snatch in mid air and return to the same spot.
While shooting birds, I found a pile of sawn-off tree trunks (see my earlier picture with the heart shaped tree trunk). On top of two of them I saw these very cute mushrooms. So I decided to take more close up pictures while standing on a considerable distance. But I carried my telephoto lens.

Toronto based Alison Au is one of the top sax players in Canada. She won 2017 Montreal Jazz Festival TD Grand Prix de Jazz in addition to awards she won prior and after. Ostara project toured with some of the best jazz artist in Canada. These are all leaders, composers, songwriters and Montreal was last stop on this year tour. Some live on the West Coast and some live in the East, so getting together was a challenge. Here Toronto's Alison Au reacts to the amazing vocalisation of Shruti. This is how, this young fox reacts to his mother when she shows up.
Which is all to often!
Mom, has ruined quite a few of my photo op's with this young fox by chasing him away.
He gets pretty vocal and then runs, with her chasing him.
Usually, if she wanders off he will come back all nervous and looking over his shoulder.
Since, the river froze over, I haven't been seeing much of him.
When I do, he is usually across the river.
I would love the get some closeup portrait shots of him in the deep snow.
