Reached to Glacier Point (7214 feet) in Yosemite National Park near sunset on July 6th. Many tourist came to this place gradually to view sunset of Half Dome. Half Dome is a quartz monzonite batholith standing at 8,839 feet.
visited with hubby's family. spent the afternoon at the park and tried my hand at practicing candid shots.
Lac Beauvert - I wanted to see the famous tree, and if you get up before the sun you can beat the tourists and have the whole lake to yourself. Of course, I had to put my Yak tracks in after i took this shot.
The wind has been beating this tree down since the day it was born, but it refuses to fall, It is the struggle that gives it beauty.
Two Class 172 diesel multiple units head north near Hampton Lovett in Worcestershire with 2D95, the 16:45 Worcester Foregate Street to Stratford-upon-Avon service on Tuesday 13th August 2024. The viewpoint is from the busy A442 road which connects Droitwich to Kidderminster, as does the railway.
Moss! Taken at Brae Island Regional Park, Fort Langley.
Many thanks to all those who view, fav or comment my pictures. It is much appreciated.
Back to Lumsdale Falls in Matlock for today's upload. As I've mentioned on my previous post from this location, sadly most of the falls were closed off so the opportunities for compositions were not as bountiful but I still love this place.
Made some minor updates here and there.
Added the additional gun barrel on the right side of the turret and the antenna on top, improved the track pod set up to include the more accurate light trio set up, and added the hooks on the underside of the front chassis.
Apologies to anyone that finds this offensive, its would never be my intention to upset anyone.
I have had this on my computer for a few weeks now ( I took it with the other doll one earlier in my stream) unsure if I should post it, but it just seems such a bloomin good subject (creepy or not).
Hope you all continue to talk to me :-(.

Yellow-crowned Night Heron is restricted to warmer parts of the Americas. It is mainly coastal, but does breed inland across much of eastern USA. The northern populations are migratory which make it prone to vagrancy. It hasn't reached Britain yet, but a long-stayer reached Mayo in Ireland in 2024, and it has also reached Iberia and the Azores. I have most often seen it in mangroves where it often sits in trees during the day, but at night it comes down to feed, using its stout bill to catch crabs and crayfish, or anything else it can find. Its scientific name is Nyctanassa violacea, which translates as violet-coloured lady of the night. The pale yellow crown that gives rise to its name is obvious, but I'm not sure why Linnaeus decided to call it violacea. I photographed this individual in the mangroves of Isla San Jose in the Sea of Cortez.

Children shouldn't be abandoned by the society,
there is no excuses for that.
Please, come with me in this boat,
help us to make the changes of the future,
and then we would smile together
looking those reflections
in the river of life.

I mentioned I had an alternative version of 'Within Reach', an image I posted recently. Well, here it is.

This is a view on my daily drive to work near Vancouver, Washington USA. I rarely get there at sunrise -- only this time of year when sunrise is late enuf for a nightowl!
It requires large size for the full effect. I didn't quite know how to capture this shot, finally cropped as a pano, and that helped. Any of you landscape gurus have suggestions...?
