Tonight had me reaching for the cardboard and a shot inspired by Mafufuma.
I love his bokeh light man as there is so much energy in the shot.
I tried my own version tonight and endeavoured to create the same energy.
Falling or being taken up man, depending on your outlook on life, cut from black card and taped to my plastic frame. Placed in front of my camera so as to fill the frame. I went round the back and illuminated the cut out with the lp brushes black fibers and blue filter attachment. Light provided by my awesome Ryus Lightworks torch on full power. Once I'd done a few steady seeeps I moved to the other side and waved the same fibers all over the right hand side of the frame. I then changed to closest focus and repeated step two from the left.
Minor edits in LR mobile and all shot during a single long exposure
Cheers Mafu for the inspiration.
Happy days.

What a fantastic night... My favorite shot of this series :)
This series is along the Main Street Pier on the Indian River in Sebastian, FL. The location I chose is between two local watering holes that had competing bands...one of which was playing a song 'Riding the Storm Out' ~ and I did indeed ride it out.
For a brief 'Ben Franklin' moment, I contemplated the potential hazzard of standing next to my tripod while holding that umbrella up over the camera to keep it dry...hmmm
My grape vine has climbed up the Lime tree and is searching for somewhere else to climb up to. Meanwhile I'll have to check if the birds have found the unripe grapes down below. They tend to strip it long before any grapes are ripe

💭 Did you know Saguaro cacti can grow to be 200+ years old and 40+ feet tall, in an environment that barely receives double-digit annual rainfall totals coupled with air temperatures routinely exceeding triple-digits?! 💪 Talk about perseverance in the face of extreme limitations! I find myself always awe-struck in the presence of these incredible feats of natural engineering.

Did you know that the Peregrine Falcon is known for its diving speed which can reach speeds of more than 186 mph? Making it not only the world's fastest bird but also the world's fastest animal.
----------------------------- JESUS ✝️ SAVES-------------------------------
SALVATION THROUGH FAITH IN JESUS CHRIST - ALONE!
12 Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved."
❤️❤️ IT'S ALL JESUS AND NONE OF OURSELVES! ❤️❤️
16 I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God for the SALVATION of everyone WHO BELIEVES: first for the Jew, then for the Gentile. 17 For in the gospel a RIGHTEOUSNESS FROM GOD IS REVEALED, a righteousness that is by FAITH FROM FIRST TO LAST, just as it is written: "THE RIGHTEOUS WILL LIVE BY FAITH." (Romans 1:16-17)
16 KNOW that a man is NOT justified by observing the law, but by FAITH IN JESUS CHRIST. So we, too, have put our faith in Christ Jesus that we may be JUSTIFIED BY FAITH in CHRIST and NOT by observing the law, BECAUSE BY OBSERVING THE LAW NO ONE WILL BE JUSTIFIED. (Galatians 2:16)
1. Now, brothers, I want to remind you of the gospel I preached to you, which you received and on which you have taken your stand. 2. BY THIS GOSPEL YOU ARE SAVED, if you hold firmly to the word I preached to you. Otherwise, you have believed in vain.
3. For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, 4. that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures, 5. and that he appeared to Peter, and then to the Twelve. 6. After that, he appeared to more than five hundred of the brothers at the same time, most of whom are still living, though some have fallen asleep. 7. Then he appeared to James, then to all the apostles, 8. and last of all he appeared to me also, as to one abnormally born.
9. For I am the least of the apostles and do not even deserve to be called an apostle, because I persecuted the church of God. 10. But by the grace of God I am what I am, and his grace to me was not without effect. No, I worked harder than all of them--yet not I, but the grace of God that was with me. 11. Whether, then, it was I or they, this is what we preach, and this is what you believed. (1 Corinthians 15:1-11)
7. Therefore Jesus said again, "I tell you the truth, I am the gate for the sheep. 8. All who ever came before me were thieves and robbers, but the sheep did not listen to them. 9. I am the gate; whoever enters through me WILL BE SAVED. He will come in and go out, and find pasture. 10. The thief comes only to STEAL and KILL and DESTROY; I have come that they may have LIFE, and have it to the FULL. (John 10:7-10)
Jesus came to bring spiritual LIFE to the spiritually dead and set the captives FREE! FREE from RELIGION, ERROR and outright LIES, so WE might serve THE LIVING GOD! In SPIRIT and in TRUTH!
So you'll KNOW, and not think you're to bad for God to love. The Christian LIFE isn't about how good WE are, because NONE of us are! It's about how GOOD JESUS IS! Because JESUS LOVES US, so much he died in our place and took the punishment for all of our sins on himself. The wages of sin is DEATH, and Jesus died that death for YOU and I. The good news is there no more punishment for sin left, we were and are all born forgive as a result of the crucifixion of God himself on the cross that took away the sins of the whole world. All we have to do is believe it, and put your Faith in the finished work of Jesus Christ. That my friends is REAL UNCONDITIONAL LOVE! YOU ARE LOVED. ❤️ ✝️ ❤️

A pretty miserable day yesterday with rain and strong winds curtesy of storm Callum my camera stayed firmly in its bag, luckily I still have a few images from Wednesday mornings visit to the Upper Dove Valley to share. Walking back down from Chrome hill just after sunrise the golden light spreading through the leaves on the tree was magical. I thought the branches reaching out to the sun, the soft mist and the light skimming over the path made a such lovely tranquil scene so did my best to capture it.(Olympus EM-1 Mkii 7-14mm f/2.8 pro 1/100 f/6.3 @ 7mm Kase X-eye polarising filter)

If I could reach, higher
Just for one moment touch the sky
From that one moment
In my life
I'm gonna be stronger
Know that I've tried my
Very best
I'd put my spirit to the test
If I could reach....

Parting gift to my dear quokka friend. They cannot reach eucalyptus leaves as the lower branches of tree are above their heads, so I picked a leaf and offered it to this grateful little quokka. How gentle are they? Well the first panel had the quokka grab the leaf in the middle, he sensed his teeth were too close to my fingers, so he opened his mouth again (panel 2) to show his teeth position and moved his head back until he felt the end of the leaf . He closed his mouth (panel 3) once he felt he was far enough away then in 4th panel indicated he was ready for me to let go of the leaf.. Last panel a very contented quokka with the famous quokka smile.

A revisit to a scene I visited a few years back. Glad to see its intact. Autumn colour in this area of Hardcastle Crags was excellent as its predominantly beech tree's here.
On the mountains of truth you can never climb in vain: either you will reach a point higher up today, or you will be training your powers so that you will be able to climb higher tomorrow. - Friedrich Nietzsche
For Self Portrait Sunday with the theme "Reaching".
The Theatre of Dionysus is an ancient Greek theatre in Athens. It is built on the south slope of the Acropolis hill, originally part of the sanctuary of Dionysus Eleuthereus. The first orchestra terrace was constructed on the site around the mid- to late-sixth century BC, where it hosted the City Dionysia. The theatre reached its fullest extent in the fourth century BC under the epistates of Lycurgus when it would have had a capacity of up to 17,000, and was in continuous use down to the Roman period.
Italy, Venice, Burano, …a fiesta of colours & light. The island at the northern end of the Venetian Lagoon is situated 7 kilometres from Venice, known for its lacework & for its small, brightly-painted houses. To reach the island with a population of around four thousand, takes about a 60 minutes trip by Venetian motorboats, "Vaporetti".
The warm myriad of Mediterranean colours that characterises the houses on the island, follow a detailed system initiated at the golden era of its development; if someone wishes to paint their home, one must send a request to the government, who will respond by making notice of certain colours permitted for that lot.
