Dendrites with opposite directions seem to reach out toward each other trying to connect in this drone shot of a playa in Southern California. I figure the right dendrites are older than the left ones, and were made under different conditions.
At right is a mockup of the photo as a print on the wall of a comfy cabin found on an internet home design site.

Hipstamatic's Salvador 84 lens is my current favourite and gives a random reflected image in a form of multi-exposure effect.
With this shot, I was initially attempting to recreate something resembling the hands in Michaelangelo's 'The creation of Adam', but that didn't work very well. Instead I combined the effect produced by the lens with Hipstamatic's 'Cheshire' film, which adds a texture that looks like clouds. The final result conveys a sense of connection and emotion.

It where so lovely grandmom reachting out fot her grandchild en motivating him to take some steps even when he where afraid of the sand.... He love 2 discover new things.
Rohan loves his grandma and so do I.

While in Sarasota, Florida, Amy and I happened up on a cool museum exhibit showcasing the works of several photographers who documented life in these so-called United States while driving around the country. It was eye opening!
I happened along this caped fellow while taking a turn around the museum's courtyard, and was reminded that for us to survive, we must all reach out to each other. :)
Deep within ourselves we know the heart must reachout from within. I am reaching out to thank you my flickr friends for all your kind comments and visits. Your beautiful photostreams inspire me. US-Bürgerrechtlerin und Black-Power-Aktivistin Angela Davis besucht 2015 erneut Berlin
Am 15. Mai 2015 hatte ich das Glück, Angela Davis bei ihrem mehrtägigen Aufenhalt in Deutschland zum ersten Mal live und hautnah in Berlin erleben zu dürfen. Davis ist eine Ikone der US-Menschenrechtsbewegung. Neben Martin Luther King und Malcom X kämpft sie für ein gerechtes, rassismusfreies und friedliches Amerika.
Die US-Bürgerrechtlerin war zusammen mit ihrer Kollegin Gina Dent nach Berlin gereist, um mit Geflüchteten, verschiedenen Initiativen, Aktivisten und Unterstützern über die Refugee Strike Bewegung und deren Situation zu sprechen. Ihre Anwesenheit sollte der Flüchtlingsbewegung Kraft und neuen Schub geben.
Es ist ca. 18:20 Uhr, als Angela Davis und eine Schar von Aktivisten samt Pressevertretern an der Rosa-Parks-Grundschule in Berlin-Kreuzberg vorbei laufen, um zur Gerhart-Hauptmann-Schule in der Ohlauer Straße zu gelangen. Sie alle kamen vom Biergarten "Jockel", wo sich Davis im Vorfeld mit den Aktivisten traf und mit ihnen bereits Gespräche führte. Nun wollten die Aktivisten Davis die ehemalige und leerstehende Schule zeigen, die 2012 von einer Gruppe Geflüchteter besetzt wurde.
Die Antirassismus-Initiative "ReachOut" hatte im Vorfeld die Genehmigung für einen Besuch mit Davis in der Unterkunft in der Ohlauer Straße beantragt. Laut ReachOut fanden im Februar und März 2015 mehrere genehmigte Treffen mit Bewohnern der Schule statt. Der Bezirk hatte den Besuch mit Davis allerdings nicht genehmigt.
Der ehemalige Bezirksamtsprecher Sascha Langenbach ließ verlauten, hier handele es sich "nur" um einen "PR-Gag". Langenbach weiter: "Lassen wir Davis und Dent in die Schule, wollen weitere Leute kommen. Demnächst stehen noch Margot Honecker und Egon Krenz auf der Matte." (…)´
Davis erklärte: "Alle Menschen sind es wert, wie Menschen behandelt zu werden. Alle Menschen haben das Recht auf eine Arbeit, Wohnung und Gesundheitsversorgung. […] Die Flüchtlingsbewegung ist die Bewegung des 21. Jahrhunderts. Es ist die Bewegung, die die Auswirkungen des globalen Kapitalismus herausfordert. Es ist die Bewegung, welche Menschenrechte für alle Menschen fordert."
Gespräche fanden schlussendlich vor den von der Security bewachten und verschlossenen Toren der Schule auf dem Gehweg statt. Die Polizei war mit Wannen vor Ort, hielten sich allerdings in größerem Abstand zurück. Es folgten auch hier viele emotionale Diskussionen.
Keine halbe Stunde später verabschiedete sich Davis mit erhoben geballter Faust von allen Anwesenden und stieg in ein Taxi, welches in kurzer Zeit im Großstadtdschungel verschwand.
Rückblick
Wegen angeblichen Mordes, Menschenraubes und Verschwörung wurde Angela Davis 1970 in den USA verhaftet und angeklagt. Ihr drohte damals bei Verurteilung wegen des Vorwurfs der "Unterstützung des Terrorismus" die Todesstrafe. Dagegen gab es weltweiten Protest.
Ebenso weltweit glaubten Menschen daran, dass die Vorwürfe gegen Davis konstruiert waren, um die bekannte Black-Power-Aktivistin mundtot zu machen. In den USA, in Afrika, in Europa - überall gab es Proteste gegen die Verhaftung, ihre Freunde und Genossen starteten die Kampagne "Free Angela". Prominente schlossen sich an. Aretha Franklin wollte eine Kaution für Davis zahlen. John Lennon und Yoko Ono schrieben einen Song über sie ("Angela"), ebenso die Rolling Stones: "Sweet Black Angel".
In diese Kampagne, in diese Aktionen sei dann die DDR groß mit eingestiegen, sagt der Historiker Dr. Stefan Wolle. Mit Fällen von vermeintlicher Ungerechtigkeit, gerade in den USA, konnte die DDR-Führung "wunderbar ablenken vom eigenen Repressionssystem, von den eigenen politischen Gefangenen, den eigenen Verfolgungen." Im Fall von Davis konnte sich die DDR aufs hohe Ross der internationalen Solidarität schwingen, so Wolle.
Im Juni 1972 wurde sie in allen Punkten der Anklage freigesprochen.
Bis heute ist die mittlerweile 71-jährige Davis politisch aktiv.
