Nature's bounty at the Vashon Island Farmers' Market, in Washington state.

I went away for a few days, and about ten minutes after I returned the phone rang. "Would you like some raspberries?" asked a neighbor, who had just picked some. Oh boy oh boy oh boy would I! I ate my first serving within minutes.

Week 49/52

This week’s theme for my 52 project is “Food.” I was originally trying to think of something elaborate to photograph for the theme. I ultimately ended up going with simple macro shots. This is my final choice for the theme — raspberries. Today was a very cloudy, dark day, so I had to use my flash for this shot. I still need to learn more about flash photography, so this was a good exercise for me.

Our raspberry patch is thornless. Sometimes I wonder if that's fair.

2013-03-07. It looks like these three raspberries are plotting against the others... or are they just left aside?

March 2013 - Fushia & Pink

So, I have finished my first year of college and it's officially summer! I'm so excited, hopefully I will get so many shoots done.

A flat lay, high key photograph. I used yoghurt as a background, thinking that if it works for snow, it should work for me too. I didn't have a fresh raspberry, so I defrosted a few, hence the lack of texture here. I chose yoghurt as a background because I wanted to have a shadow or two in it, similar to a snow covered landscape.

I like to photograph things in a fluid freestyle sort of way, and the most work I do, is to stick the camera on a tripod and my subject on a plate, or worktop, or some other handy ready made corner of the house. There was a time when I didn't even bother with the tripod LoL.

This is what happens when raspberry grows over a car after two years.
