We hiked through the rain forest today.
Duckabush, Wa.
Two trails here —one with a historic ranger’s cabin and signs telling about life in the early 1900s, and another leading to an overlook of a loud white-water rapid of the Duckabush River. You will see the first ranger station in the Olympic Forest, housed in a structure built by Emory Finch for his bride, Maybelle, in 1906.

Well, I haven't posted much of late. As you can see, things have not changed all that much around here.
Today, we walked just over 11 km's round trip, gaining around 450 m's with all the ups and downs, taking just over 3 hours to do so.
The weekend's weather was atrocious, and we felt bad for all those who had to go to work on Monday. Today, hardly a cloud, hardly a breeze and the mercury rocketed to +1° C!

This is the fourth iteration of my Ranger series - practice makes perfect!). It is about 30% bigger than my previous version, making it one of my largest ever builds. It measures a total of 39 studs, bow to stern. The larger scale has meant that I've been able to pack it with details that I couldn't squeeze in before.

On our loop, we typically only saw one group of people each day for a few minute encounter.
This was on the first day and the ranger team was heading out to perform trail maintenance.

I had just taken the clothes out of the dryer and Ranger plopped right down on top of them. He looked so comfy and guilty I just had to throw a shirt on his head and snap a shot!
