It's really interesting how often you see "BEST car I ever owned" comments in the same thread as "WORST car I ever owned" comments on forums discussing the P38. It seems the build quality varied massively.

Personally, I still prefer the Classic for the way it looked, but this one is certainly worthy of inclusion.

I did the grille in the same way that Lego does the grille, I discovered that the closer I got to the right proportions, the less it looked like a Range Rover, so I compromised a bit.

After leaving Mt Somers Village we drove south until we reached the Rangitata River bridge.

As soon as we crossed the river we saw a sign directing to the Peel Forest and Rangitata Gorge which we took not realising that it would take us an hour with stops to drive the 28km from Mount Somers out to Forest Creek Bridge, the point where we ultimately decided to turn around.

The road was reasonable gravel all the way and by the time we reached Forest Creek bridge (Mesopotamia Locality), under time pressure, we were wondering why we'd taken such a long detour into such a remote area. To be fair though there was certainly some good mountain and river scenery along the route and our stop at the Big Tree Walk in the Peel Forest was well worth doing.

At Forest Creek the two main mountain ranges are quite imposing as they sit either side of the Rangitata River. On the North side was the Harper Range (Mahaanui) at 1830m and on the south the impressive Ben McLeod Range at 1920m.

The scenery was mainly a wide braided river valley but it was not till we reached Forest Creek bridge that we actually came very close to the river.

Rangitata Gorge Road might suggest a gorge in the classic sense however as far as we drove it seemed unlikely we would actually reach Rangitata Gorge which must have been well down the road beyond Forest Creek Bridge.

We were a little surprised in such a remote locality to have come across several utes and a few cars.

Harper Range did remind us of some of the western most mountains and lakes of England's Lakes District. eg Wast Water in the Lake District National Park.

Lydd Ranges is a military firing range south of Lydd, in Kent, England, extending as far as the south coast.

It has been used for military training for over 150 years and is part of the Dungeness, Romney Marsh and Rye Bay Site of Special Scientific Interest.Because the range is used for live firing, access is sometimes restricted - red flags are flown during these times, and access is prohibited along the foreshore and Galloways Road.

Also, red lights are shown at restricted times if there is poor weather. The danger area extends out to sea, and mariners sailing to and from Rye Harbour must pass south of the Stephenson Shoal to avoid it.

Firing occurs about 300 days a year. When firing is not taking place, it may be possible to walk along a designated path along the shore.

What a great day for a walk in the Purbecks. We made sure to set off early for our Sunday hike and were rewarded by a totally empty beach at Mupe Bay. After a cup of hot coffee we scrambled over the rocks for a different viewpoint.

Spotted this about 4 or 5 years ago...didn't have my camera at the time; pretty sure I've seen this on Flickr since then too.

Tessa couldn't care less about fish ... gold or any other colour. She's looking at me hoping I'll pick her up and hold her at the end of the session. Sole, on the other hand, yes he's found goldfish can be quite captivating.

The Range Rover was introduced to the public back in 1970.

Combining the comfort of a Rover Saloon Car with a Land Rover’s tenacity, the early Mid Size SUV came with spacious accommodation for driver and passengers.

The powertrain with a modified Buick 215 V8 engine, Rover’s groundbreaking gearbox and permanent four-wheel drive system on long-travel coil springs made the Range Rover well capable on an off road.

Musée du Louvre exhibited an early model as an „exemplary work of industrial design“. Early models had very basic interiors, Rover’s Saloon Car features like power-steering, carpeted floors, air conditioning, cloth seats and wooden interior trim were fitted in later during production.

Like the real car, the model features a Technic ladder frame chassis on coil spring suspension and rigid axles.

The build is Creator Expert sized, length 39 studs, 14 width, height about 17 studs.

The first generation of the Range Rover was built between 1970 and 1996. This four-door version was introduced in 1981. The first Range Rovers were quite basic, utilitarian cars with vinyl seats and plastic dashboards. Only later it became a luxurious vehicle with leather seats and wooden interior trim. This one has a 3.5 litre V8 engine with 164 PS.

A New Project - A New Universe

We are planning to extend our range of custom minifigures by visiting one of my other favourite universe: the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

After watching the Infinity War I knew I will have to make a custom Iron Man design in Lego for sure, and here he is now: the damaged Mark 50 suit after the battle with Thanos on the planet Titan.

To make sure that we can maintain a low price we decided to use high quality UV printing method on all the 4 sides of the minifigures including the arms.

This is the reason why we decided to use a new name for this "new project" as we don't want you to be confused with the "Living Bricks x Legend C MOC" minifigures where we will still continue to use Pad Printing.

So, just like with the Living Bricks x Legend C MOC partnership, I will be the one who is making the designs and Legend C will produce them.

The image is only a render made by me, the final product may differ.

UPDATE: We are now considering the possibility of Pad Printing. Our "dillema" is that due to the many colour per sides the Pad Printing would require a high price.

Er hat bestimmt schon bessere Zeiten erlebt!

I'm all alone. Margaret is out of town until next weekend and my daughter is away. It's just me and the dogs. After a few days of solitude I tend to get a little dreamy. A few more days and I'll be acting like the dogs. But for now I'm sliding baby.

Happy Slider's Sunday everyone.

The Wilyakali, alternatively known as the Bo-arli, Bulali, Wiljagali, Wiljakali, Wiljali, or Willoo, are the native Indigenous Australian people to the Broken Hill and Silverton areas of Far West New South Wales.

There were some fifteen groups of Aboriginal people traditionally living in the huge area bisected by the Darling River in the western plains of New South Wales. The principal group around Broken Hill was the Wiljakali. Their occupation of the area is thought to have been intermittent due to the scarcity of water. The same scarcity of water made the area unattractive for European occupiers and traditional Aboriginal ways of life continued longer there than in many other parts of New South Wales, into the 1870s. As Aboriginal people were increasingly deprived of the full range of their traditional options, they were obliged to come into stations or missions in times of drought to avoid starvation. By the 1880s many Aboriginal people were working on stations or within the mining industry. Some people ended up living in reservations created under the Aborigines' Protection Act of 1909. The influenza epidemic of 1919 had a further significant impact upon the indigenous population as did the twentieth century federal government policy of removing Aboriginal children from their families.
