One benefit of not having a full-time job right now, the hubby and I can go have lunch whenever we want. We drove by this spot about 6 months ago and wanted to check it out. So on Wednesday we did.

Coral Sunset Intersectional Itoh Peony .
A sunset in a flower! Aptly named for its awe-inspiring transformation from a radiant, vivid coral through a range of peaches, and finally, a creamy white colour, the flower is a masterpiece at every step of this sunset, and one might argue a bloom only improves with age. Unique from other coral varieties in that it opens with the most intense coral colour and has petals that are more ruffled, which perhaps contribute to a fuller appearance. Has a lower, more compact growing habit than Coral Charm. Mass plantings are recommended as flowers at different colour stages provide a visual riot in the landscape.
Side buds are possible, extending the bloom period. A favourite of the peony garden, this outstanding peony produces intense sunset coral, semi-double blossoms with rose overtones and a fluffy deep yellow stamens in the center. The lightly fragrant flowers are long lasting in fresh bouquets. ‘Coral Sunset’ blooms early in the peony season, around late spring in Ontario It is highly prized for its exemplary plant habit. and by florist as cut flower in bouquets.

Elgol. Probably my favourite place on Skye. I love the rocky shoreline and the view across Loch Scavaig to the Cuillin mountain range. On this occasion the sun gods decided to join the party too.

Mount Baldo range 20201213
Monte Baldo is a mountain range in the Italian Alps, located in the provinces of Trento and Verona. Its ridge spans mainly northeast-southwest, and is bounded from the south by the highland ending at Caprino Veronese, from the west by Lake Garda, from the north by the valley joining Rovereto to Nago-Torbole and, from east, the Val d'Adige.
The name derives from the German Wald ("forest"); it appears for the first time on a German map in 1163.
The Full Cold Moon descends toward the Continental Divide with the Longs Peak group catching the rising sun, taken east of Lyons, Colorado. On the left is Mount Meeker (13,916 ft; 4,242 m), center is Longs Peak (14,259 ft; 4,346 m), and on the right is Mount Lady Washington (13,281 ft; 4,048 m), all in Rocky Mountain National Park.
The last of my family members have departed and returned to the Pacific Northwest, and we dwelling along the Front Range anticipate a few cold, icy mornings in the immediate days to come. The house feels rather empty. I had hoped to take the family hiking up to Dream Lake in Rocky Mountain National Park but the Shut Down prevailed and all roads into the Park were closed (although the Park remained technically open).
Technical notes: Two-shot panorama stitch that included the moon right where it is, and a third photo to properly expose the moon. Properly exposed moon was then blended into the panorama over the blown-out moon with layers and masks in Photoshop.
Happy New Year everyone! Looking forward to seeing the wonderful artistic work from everyone here in 2019. I continue to be impressed with the positive, friendly, constructive nature of the people in this digital community.

The Kluane Ranges are the easternmost of the St Elias Mountains in the Yukon Territory. The photo shows the southern end of the range which extends from about Haines Junction to the Yukon-Alaskan border. Mount Logan, the highest peak in the St Elias Mountains, can only be seen from the tops of the Kluane Range. The photo is a drone panorama shot around midnight. The moon was close to setting behind the mountains, one of those unforgettable late Yukon nights.

The Clwydian Range (Welsh: Bryniau Clwyd) is a series of hills and mountains in north east Wales that runs from Llandegla in the south to Prestatyn in the north, with the highest point being the popular Moel Famau. The range is designated as an area of outstanding natural beauty. The Clwydian Hills are formed from an upstanding block of Silurian age sandstones, mudstones and siltstones. The range's rocks are intensely faulted; the major Vale of Clwyd Fault is responsible for the impressive west-facing scarp of the Clwydian Range. It downthrows the rocks to the west and separates the younger Carboniferous and Permo-Triassic rocks of the Vale of Clwyd from those of the hills

It's not called a Range, but if you've ever seen thousands of caribou grazing in these rolling hills you'd understand.
None may show up until October. By then there will be snow on the ground and this area will be one of the loneliest and harshest places you can travel. Some photographers tell that March is the best month to see caribou along the highway, but everything would still be covered in white.

These buildings are often referred to as Lighthouses, when in fact they are actually Range Lights. mariners use them to find the opening of the port (Harbour). With the rising waters and more frequent high surges from the winds these are taking a battering. I hope someone comes to the rescue before they are demolished. My web site is finally up and running.
