who decided that it isn't bad enoughthat we had to endure not-nesn announcers and 2 rain delays. they switched programming altogether and replaced the end of the game with nascar. nascar.....yup, nascar.

Will you be there for me when the storm comes raging through in my life or only be there when the sun is shining and the flowers are blooming. What about when I am sad? Laughter surrounds me and brings me joy but sadness comes and goes and seems to hang around a lil longer this time of year. Thinking often of losses - those that have gone on to paradise. Today wasn't a good day but I know that tomorrow is another opportunity for me to have a better day than today. {Random Thought 11.30.14}

Let's put this nice tulip photo onto a wax board! Are you ready!?
Oh, and the print should be a laser printout, not an inkjet. It's very important that it's toner-based.

It fascinates me how what you don't see is somehow able to be projected elsewhere. Sometimes the projection is beautiful and sometimes it is an ugly monster. That goes for people, places and things. I like to keep it real, I don't do well with monsters. It brings out a monster in me and that is not pretty at all. I think most people can accept imperfections when the person keep it real. Treat me nice,not only will I act nice, but I will treat you nice. {Random Thoughts 9.18.10}

I dip the brush in the tub of melted wax and brush it onto the board. This is what it looks like. I shoulda gotten some pics of me brushing on wax, but i'm so fast with the wax, the camera wouldn't be able to see it. It's like a lightning bolt. ZAP!

Normally you think you'd place the photo on top of the board. But I like to put the board on top of the photo. Yeah, that's right. I flip it around. It's nice to have the photo a little bigger than the board. When printing the photos, I messed up a little and didn't make the photo big enough. It's easier to line up the board onto the photo this way. Trust me.

“When all is said and done, you are part of me. That's the way it was meant to be. People are brought together for a reason, everything happens for a reason. I believe the reason that you came into our lives was to teach us how to truly love unconditionally. Each day with you in our lives was filled with love and life experiences that will forever be a part of us. Gone but not forgotten. You are teaching us how to love one another in spite of flaws. Always loved. Always remembered, never to be forgotten. {RandomThought}
Heh. This was maybe the most fun one to shoot of 07_07_07 flickr series.
Everyday to and from work I walk through this wonderful european-style plaza in the heart of Chicago's Lincoln Square is a european-style plaza. The plaza's in-laid bricks are often filled with chalk drawings by children.
I brought my own chalk (that I had since I was a kid) and drew on the bricks. It was fun drawing on the bricks. I picked a shadier part of the plaza figuring that would make the scene more interesting. But the shadows ended up obscuring the 777, so I did a good deal of photoshop work on this. Usually I don't pump up the saturation a ton, but in this case, I went ahead.

So many questions, very few answers. An indescribable deep pain and sorrow lingers. A young person has died a horrible, violent death and no one wants to come forward with information. My heart hurts for his family and this community. A community that I lived in for many years as a child and had an opportunity to return and work as the Academy Program Coordinator for the Grant HS Criminal Justice Academy. I count my blessings many times for not only the lives I impacted but the people in this community that helped me to make a positive difference in the lives of my students for so many years working in this community. I will continue hope and pray answers are given to the questions being asked. Why did this happen? How did this happen? Who did this? What did he do to deserve this? {Random Thought 11.20.15}
