Fort Stewart is the largest Army installation east of the Mississippi River, covering approximately 280,000 acres and serving as the home of the 3rd Infantry Division.

My dad was stationed here in the mid 1950’s. Their recruitment slogan back then was “Choice, Not Chance”. My dad was newly married and had started a family. Joining the military was his choice on how to take care of his family. He served two years in the Army , Fort Stewart was the first military base where he began his military career. After his enlistment was up, he joined the Air Force where he served 26 years and retired. From my perspective, in spite of the trials and tribulations he experienced and endured while serving his country, the military was a good career choice for him and his family. No complaints here, we received a lot of “benefits” and enjoyed a good quality of life as a family being attached to the military.

When I finally did that then positive things started coming my way more and more. #TrustTheProcess

It’s the evening of December 28. Dinner has been cooked and consumed, with dishes washed (mostly) and leftovers put away. I’m now sitting at my dining room table filling a notebook with random thoughts about life and love, while the Christmas tree lights glow and the music of Miles Davis swirls around the house, filling any sad or empty spaces in my head.

Happy (Heavenly) Birthday Dad. photo taken in 2006

In Memory of My Dad

If I could write a story, it would surely be one of the greatest stories I have every told. My father was a very kind and loving father. He had a heart of gold and his family meant everything to him (especially the grandkids). I could go on and on yet still have difficulty finding the right words to express how much I love and miss him every single day. I am thankful I found a love for the camera and he never said no to me taking his pictures. I am still hurting and sad but I know he is no longer suffering and he is with my mom. They are together again which is what he always wanted. He wanted to be with his wife. Pop-Pop you are loved and missed by our family. We were abundantly blessed to have had you for a such a long time. {Random Thought 1.17.2025}

was one thing he consented to wear. He approved of the color combination. Here

I think about all that you do for me when I ask and even when I don't ask.

I think about how thoughtful, kind, and considerate you are; I think about you and I remember even with a rag tied around my head,and no make-up on, you say I look beautiful to you;

I think about how very fortunate I am to have you in my life; Thinking of you makes me smile. {Random Thoughts 7.8.10}

Day 151/365 "Rice Noodles"

Another lovely day in the kitchen :) I felt for Chinese but was too lazy to go get it plus I'm broke so I chose the alternate option cooking it myself. It was fun and the end result (eating the food) was rewarding (Y). #RandomThought I love Rice Noodles :D

I am testing my figures by mailing 20 coloring sheets to my niece and nephew. The note inside reads:

Dear Olivia and Luke,

The post office allows you to mail 20 pages in one envelope with one stamp. I am testing to see if the post office will successfully mail these 20 pages to you. Here are 20 coloring pages of endangered animals. Enjoy!

I walk from the Tribune Tower lobby to the elevators and a guy walks out, so I grab the door and hop in. Nobody else is in the elevator, but MY very floor button is already pushed! Floor 14. I exclaimed, "Sweet! Wow!" I MUST have used psychic mind powers to push that button, and I didn't even realize it. Is that dangerous to have this mind ability and not even realize it with your own mind?
