will be traveling/on vacation in 2 weeks. just starting to get that wonderful itchy, twitchy feeling in my feet.
Just a little detail I saw when out and about.
I think I have discovered why I like the Middle Shires so very much. They are not grand and dramatic like Scotland or Cornwall, they dont have huge rambling castles or great expanses of water. What they do have is subtle charms, beautiful details and quiet corners, stories of Kings and Queens and political intrigues. Stuff you sort of have to work for, like the finer details of a piece of Classical music or Jazz, but when you do finally get it then its something that stays with you for life.
Have a great Sunday all my Flikr friends.

This rose i've had for quite a while. I've had it long enough that it's starting to dry. It still has beautiful color.
Song chorus Rambling Rose
RAMBLING ROSE, RAMBLING ROSE
WHY YOU RAMBLE NO ONE KNOWS
WILD AND WIND BLOWN
THAT'S HOW YOU'VE GROWN
WHO CAN PAINT YOU MY RAMBLING ROSE
RAMBLING ROSE, RAMBLING ROSE
WHY YOU RAMBLE NO ONE KNOWS
WHO WILL LOVE YOU WITH A LOVE TRUE
WHEN YOUR RAMBLING DAYS ARE GONE
RAMBLING ROSE, RAMBLING ROSE
WHY I WANT YOU HEAVEN KNOWS
THOUGH I LOVE YOU WITH A LOVE TRUE
WHO CAN CLING TO A RAMBLING ROSE.

The reddish-orange hues are gone from the sky as the rising sun has finally made its way over the horizon with the arrival of southbound Amtrak Northeast Regional passenger train #65 rambling across the Neabsco Creek trestle and marina on the morning of November 14, 2020, in Neabsco, VA.
Constant whinging from the crew had Derby looking for yet another replacement push pull loco.
On the scrapline they found the last round top boilered version of Mr Johnson’s tank No. 58047, formally from Gloucester shed, and performed a quick intermediate and sent it off north. So pleased were the crew that they spent their day off cleaning her up, only to find LMS still on the tanks.
A Spotted Hyaena in The Kruger National Park, South Africa rambling in the last rays of the evening sun.
In spite of their reputation as cowardly scavengers, spotted hyaenas are actually highly interesting and intelligent animals. They are efficient hunters that can bring down such large animals as buffalos and zebras. Powerful teeth and jaws enable them to crush and consume bones to get to the nutritious marrow, before the stomach's highly concentrated hydrochloric acid helps digest the bone. Spotted hyaenas are often seen in female-dominated territorial groups called clans, in which all males are subordinate to all females. Males leave the clan when they reach adulthood, but females tend to stay and inherit their mother's rank.

This rambling rose was already in the garden when we moved here 38 years ago. It never fails to flower and is always a cheerful sight.
Couldn’t understand a word they said. This is also where we got our water supply.
