Molti sono i libri sulla storia di Pesaro, ma nella vasta panoramica della bibliografia pesarese questo volume, costituisce una novità , perché è la trasposizione editoriale di una rubrica radiofonica, "Radio Città racconta la storia di Pesaro", a cura di Giovanna Patrignani, che dal 2006 illustra per radio la storia della nostra città , nei suoi molteplici aspetti, dalle origini ai giorni nostri. La rubrica, ideata dalla stessa Patrignani insieme ad Elio Giuliani, direttore di "Radio Città ", ha subito ottenuto un grande successo di ascolti, per la metodologia innovativa di rendere accessibile la storia al vasto pubblico di ascoltatori radiofonici, popolare e variegato. L'audience ottenuta è data dalla felice simbiosi tra rigorosa indagine storico-documentaria e approccio divulgativo con cui Giovanna Patrignani, ricercatrice esperta e qualificata, conduce la sua rubrica. Il volume che ne deriva raccoglie quaranta schede sui luoghi e i monumenti più rappresentativi di Pesaro e aggiunge una ricca documentazione fotografica in cui le immagini del passato storico o recente della città si abbinano a quelle del suo presente.

Ringrazio per la bella mattina trascorsa nella Biblioteca "G. Spadolini" del Senato, alla presentazione del volume "Pompei. La catastrofe (2014-2020)", gli autori Helga DI GIUSEPPE e Marco DI BRANCO, i relatori Carlo PAVOLINI, Luigi MALNATI e Manlio LILLI, quest'ultimo prestatosi anche come moderatore, e il pubblico in sala. C'era, tra gli altri, anche l'ottimo arch. Balasco, alias BALATTINI, e devo ringraziarlo per le vignette che mi ha 'prestato' per l'occasione.
Grande attenzione e partecipazione anche al momento (spesso imbarazzante) delle domande finali: i presenti sono intervenuti quasi tutti, compresi rappresentanti delle associazioni italia Nostra e Bianchi Bandinelli, per aggiungere nuovi spunti di riflessione e/o commentare quanto già detto.
L'iniziativa è stata dedicata alla memoria del prof. Marcello Barbanera, e non occorre spiegare perché.
Ringrazio, in fine, anche il FOLTO pubblico che ci ha seguiti da remoto, compresi i CONVITATI DI PIETRA, ai quali, ne sono certa, abbiamo fatto trascorrere un'insolita mattinata di recupero della consapevolezza di sé.

For upcoming shows at the Lucky Gator Loft:
I was trying to bend the handle using a little jig I had gotten, and also to have the handle tuck under the top. It's proving to be difficult... Also trying not to mar the metal in the process... These are 3 attempts, each more successful than the last, but all of them failures.

For those of you who don't know what this is, it's a graphite ring mandrel for soldering rings. You place the ring on the mandrel (NOT YOUR FINGER) and then solder it.
I was cutting out a bunch of strips of copper to make a series of hoop earrings and these long strips were the scrap, so I hammered them til they curved.
Since its mothers day and its all about moms I feel this picture is perfect for the occasion. I use to swim with Amy, the mom, in Highschool. This is Mikayla (sp?) her daughter and it shows the love and support every mom (mum) gives their child. No matter how old or young, your mom has saved your ass at least once... I know mine has numerous times... that is why I love my mum.

I almost forgot to make a ring on this day! I literally had to jump out of bed at the hotel and the only thing I could think of to use as a material was toilet paper. So I made this and went back to bed :-)
Diefenbunker: Canada's Cold War Museum
This Rad sniffer was situated on top of the hill above the Diefenbunker. While there it measured light intensity from the bomb 'flash', gamma and neutron radiation levels, and blast wave overpressure. When it sensed all three, it would send a signal down to mounted valve actuators in the machine room, which opened to allow high pressure gas to pneumatically force close all the 9 intakes and exhaust ports of the bunker.
It did all this in 3/10 of a second. Its sensors were calibrated on-site through the use of a cesium-137 source kept in a little steel container in a secure room on the 100 level. The entire sniffer is actually called 'Cloud Burst One' and rises on hydraulics from a protected area on top of the bunker hill. It was expected to be destroyed in the first blast, so 'Cloud Burst Two' would have to be manually carried outside. The test panels for this device are in the guard area, in the front foyer area of the bunker.
