Rad Bolten on the resonator guitar and Washboard Dave on the ..washboard.....http://www.myspace.com/washboarddave.
Rad was seated and tuning up his guitar when I walked up and made the comment " I thought that was a Dobro" as at an earlier time this day the guitar was laying face down in it's case. Rad proceeded to explain to me that this was a resonator guitar not a Dobro and he pulled a magazine article out of his pocket that explained the difference. Briefly, a Dobro is a particular type of resonator guitar and the name is currently owned by the Gibson guitar co.
While I was talking to Rad another gentlemen joined us and entered into a conversation with my friend "Ski". That conversation went the way of two old friends meeting again after some time apart. It turned out "Ski" and Dave went to grade school together and grew up in the same neighborhood.
I talked to Dave briefly myself and then Ski later on and got a history of their relationship and found there is also a connection between Ski, Dave, and myself and some other people we all know.
Less then 6deg. of separation here.
