Ruby Van Meter held their third annual Elementary Swim Championships on Friday, February 24th. Swim Coach Gene Hildreth says, "All the kids love swimming here. For some, it's therapeutic, and for others it's a great physical challenge where they get some good exercise." The championships are a way to get the students excited about the upcoming special olympics that the older students will compete in.

Ruby Van Meter held their first ever wearable art fashion show with the theme of Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle to celebrate Earth Day on Thursday, April 21st. After designing and building their wardrobes, students walked the runway to techno beats and a cheering audience. Students that were unable to attend watched the show virtually and even flaunted their own garments from the big screen.

Tom Braxton
Saxofonist en componist Tom Braxton is een doorgewinterde performer, die met enorme charme zijn publiek weet te omarmen. Braxton heeft een eigen onderscheidend en herkenbaar geluid, dat alle elementen van de jazz, latin, funk en R&B bij langs gaat. Daarbij laat hij zijn luisteraars overrompeld en vervuld met een gevoel van vreugde achter. Zijn muziek dwarrelt door je ziel.
Door de jaren heen, deelde Tom het podium met vele bekende artiesten zoals Dave Koz, Rick Braun, Peter White, Earl Klugh, George Duke, Kirk Whalum, Jonathan Butler, Jeff Golub, Marcus Miller, Keiko Matsui, Luther Vandross en Phillip Bailey. Tom stond in de voorprogramma’s voor talrijke jazzgrootheden waaronder Norman Brown, Boney James, Najee, Dave Brubeck, Cab Calloway, Spyro Gyra, The Rippingtons, David Benoit, Pieces of a Dream, Michael Franks en de Crusaders.
